About Me
CURRENT MISSION
live and experience, and keep on hitting the road.
ABOUT ME
Originally from Germany, but have lived abroad for 14 years now. It sounds like a cliche, but I am no longer very fond of national categories, though they do of course carry meaning. Beauty tends to happen when everything mixes together, in the borderlands.
No longer officially a student (at least for now), but very much still feel like one. Without ever planning on it, I somehow ended up living in between Europe and the United States - feeling very much in love with both places.
I am passionate about politics, or rather positive political change, and love meeting people with interesting stories to tell and perspectives to share. But happiness and peace of mind I most often find in the wilderness.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I first became involved with CouchSurfing whilst living in Moscow where I went to a few CouchSurfing parties and always met tons of fun and interesting people. After finally moving out of university dorms we have been hosting quite a few people at our new home, which has been wonderful so far, and I look forward to going CouchSurfing myself as soon I get the opportunity to travel!
Interests
hiking and nature, all things politics, activism and social justice, Eastern Europe + Balkans + Middle East, long discussions over food and most importantly wine, reading, running, photography, getting lost in unknown cities...

Music, Movies, and Books
I worship Jim Jarmusch and Blackadder. Virginia Woolf and Siri Hustvedt are currently my favourite writers, but I am always looking to discover new loves. All kinds of music can make me endlessly happy, from Manu Chao and Spanish guitar music to Bulat Okudzhava, from Nouvelle Vague to Drum'n'Bass, Norah Jones to Rotfront. I love fusions that cross borders and genres.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Standing on the Red Square as it starts to snow, or hitch-hiking down to the Croatian coast with friends to enjoy a cold beer on the beach on a summer afternoon. Life doesn't get much better.
