COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

30 years ago when our home was a tiny cabin in the remote mountains of southern oregon, we needed to stay in eugene for a few weeks. at first we stayed at a close relative's sumptuous home, and it was nice to be w/ them, but when they felt that they had no time to entertain us, we were asked to leave. we had a small kid, who liked to get up early. so we sublet a bedroom from a young rocker. unfortunately our child's early AM vocal habits did not sit well w/ our host's roommates.
that week i happened to bump into some previous acquaintances who also had a baby by then, and they let us stay w/ them in their one room cottage.
i sewed hats in the kitchen, she studied law in the bathroom, and washed diapers there. it snowed. john lennon got shot. in 2009 we are still the best of friends, after staying in the tiniest shared space i have ever met!!!!
