About Me

I am a scientist driven by curiosity and a desire to contribute to meaningful solutions for global challenges. My work focuses on wastewater treatment and self-sustaining sanitation systems—topics that are essential but not always glamorous. In my free time, I enjoy creative activities such as ceramics, painting, and calligraphy, as well as relaxing with a good book or film. These interests provide a fulfilling balance between my professional and personal life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have traveled extensively as a solo female traveler and have cherished the chance to meet people and stay in their homes through Couchsurfing. My experiences inspired me to start hosting others upon returning from my journeys. These days, I mostly travel for work and am primarily looking to connect with people and gain insights into different ways of life.

Interests

I am interested in nearly everything. I especially love traveling , reading, listening to music, making new friends and -of course- laughing, eating, cooking, (day-)dreaming...

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm listening to "Toranj" by Mohsen Namjoo right now. I could be listening to something completely different in a minute.

I watched Hamlet(2000) with Ethan Hawke a few days ago. But I also like musicals.

Next to my bed lies "Zaira" by Camil Florescu. The last book I read was one about internet security.

Let's say it like this: My taste for music, books and films can change from second to second.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being (almost) attacked by an elephant in Burkina Faso.
Agrounding with a sailing boat on a sandbank in Greece.
Sleeping in a Beduine tent in the Sahara.
Getting stuck in a police office in Serbia.
Eating fried maggots. (Don‛t do it!)
Being accompanied by a bodyguard (!) in Balouchestan.
...

and, and, and...
