After five years living away from the islands (Providence for four years and Morocco for one) I'm back and ready to relearn Oahu.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

One person I couchsurfed three years ago gave me the most amazing hunk of cheese from the farm he was working at. We spend the last six months living together in a food co-op in Providence!

Intereses

Learning your favorite recipe and teaching you mine (ingredients permitting--I cook mostly Japanese and Middle Eastern food)

Cooperative, communal living and eating-- I've been involved with a co-op in Providence, RI for the past four years, and I'd love to see or hear about other models of cooperative living, eating, or working.

How did I just discover graphic novels? I'm still biased against the ones that look like comic books though. Huge fan of Habibi, Fun Home, Persepolis.

I don't watch many movies or tv shows, though Twin Peaks is incredible and all that keeps me from planning a Twin Peaks themed costume party is the inability to decide on the best character.

Two years ago I ran into the other Mari Miyoshi in the streets of the East Village, New York City. I recognized her from friending her on facebook years before (embarassing) and we had coffee!!

I can begin to teach you Arabic (I've been studying for the past four years)

I can teach you to float or to swim the butterfly, depending on where you're at.
