ABOUT ME

greetings fellow scallywags!! i'm jamie, the captain's daughter; yup, that's right, my dad is a pirate! well sort of anyway...my family and I live in the small town of Eagle River, WI where we have a pirate ship on pontunes that we base our recreation and businesses around! we have a themed restaurant, tikki bar and lounge, espresso boutique and of course, a pirate ship! we entertain private parties and boat tours on our 50x14ft pirate ship and have a blast with our guests on the eagle river chain of lakes!(www.eagleriverpirates.com)
i dabble in each addition to our pirate village in addition to making clothing, jewelry, vynl art, hoops, and other art to sell here. I someday soon hope to make enough glorious goods to travel the music festival circut around this beautiful country in the winter time when our bussiness is slow!in the summers i live in my 'condo' (my condo is my sweet tent i set up to live in....it's rad and i love it...there are pics im my gallery) my parents, grandmother, two brothers and sister, and whatever stray friends or fellow vagabonds joining us at the time, all live onsite as well. my whole family is free spirited and artistic in thier own way. we are hard workers and very busy all the time but enjoy sharing energy with everyone we cross paths with and welcome anyone who doesn't mind our fast paced busy(crazy, more like) life. we love inspiration and new people motivate us! i am very close with everyone in my life, especially my family, and i'm sure anyone that passes through our lives feels the same about theese wonderful soulmates!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i am new to couch surfing and can't wait to contribute and participate! as i said, my family has a pirate ship in WI. i have meet so many wonderful people here and think every couch surfer out there would absolutely love the energy!! we would love to have guests! we have a cabin on the premises and if that is occupied there is codo city (which is basically our area for camping where we refer to our tents as our condos!!!!) myself and my siblings all live here in the summers along with friends so feel free to set up as well to suit your crashing needs. we have a rockin' time and love new friends. we'd love to have you pass thru and be a pirate with us!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i have couchsurfed once through this site an had an amazing experience! i would definately like to do it again! since we sea gypsys dont stand still for too long, i have decided that frequent travel and adventurecising will keep me occupied and inspired in between being home with the faces i love!

Interests

other than my obvious interests in pillaging the lands, I LOVE TO HOOP DANCE! i actually just started hooping and making hoops and i LOVE it and would have to put it at the top of my interest/hobby list. i also have been dabbleing in creating wonderous wares here on the shores of duck lake!

Music, Movies, and Books

beast of burden, tiny dancer, fire on the mountain, pros and cons of hitchhiking, and burning down the house, are a few fav.s from my current playlist but i can't commit to any one genre or artist. They are all too wonderful, and honestly i'm just as happy with a little acoustic jam session amoung friends (i wish i could play guitar...it's on my to do list) my favorite book to travel with is, hands down, leaves of grass since you can open to any page no matter where you are and find a moment of peace. otherwise, i recently took a great liking to water for elephants.....read it if you haven't. emmiline grangerford is my very favorite literary character ever (she is from the adventures of huckleberry finn; she has such presence in her art and poetry that even though she isn't an active player in the novel, she defines the very substance of experience to me). i am also shamelessly guilty of reading pride and predjudice every christmas to remind myself to never stop falling in love! I dont watch a whole lot of tv but i am a huge fan of the wall on any occation and was lucky enough to see roger waters recently perform the show in chicago!! the beatles yellow submarine is pretty fun. i like to play live concert dvds when i am doing projects for backround music so that i can float in and out of the show. my one guilty media pleasure i do have to confess to is that i am secretly addicted to Buffy the Vampire Slayer...yup, not even going to try to lie about it!!

Teach, Learn, Share

i would love to turn all ye land lubbin' couch surfers into pirates! that, i suppose, is a love i could spread and i'd luv to share my experiences on the ship with you when you pass through! also, as i mentioned before, i have started hoop dancing and would love to teach, learn, or share anything hoop related!!!
