About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To make 2009, the year of our life!!!! I'm up for the cup....
ABOUT ME
Where do we start??? We're a couple of straight guys, have been best mates for 25 years!! We always thought of ourselves as being a home boys, until we were seconded to Ireland with our employer. Even though it is only a short flight from home in Sunny Scotland, it opened up our eyes to the fact there is so much out there to see!! So since then we have moved around with work, and tried to see as many countries in Europe as we could... Am now at the age where if we don't take a year out of work, we never will, so from May 2009 we are off travelling, no real plan yet, stopovers planned Hong Kong, Oz, NZ & Africa at the moment. Hope to keep the plan pretty fluid.
PHILOSOPHY
We have been in full time employment since 17 yrs old... and the longer we work, the more we trully believe that we should all work to live.... not live to work!!!!
So for the next year at least we will live by this BIG TIME!!!!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None at the moment although it comes highly recommended by our mate / work colleague Andreas, who couch surfed his way across USA. Looking forward to getting involved from May onwards.
Interests
Other than travelling, we are mad football fans (Glasgow Rangers), love hitting the gym (Some say addicted!!), very sporty in general, love meeting new people & above all a good night out with like minded people!!!
- traveling
- soccer
Music, Movies, and Books
We love to chill, watch a good film, favourites range from American Gangster - The Usual Suspects.
Gordon - I enjoy reading books when I am travelling to work. Irvine Welsh is a GENIUS.... love his books!! Also a big fan of true crime books, have no idea why though!!! Maybe a deterrant??? :)
Both of us love music, and have been to Ibiza many times... Love house music, puts a huge smile on our faces!!!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Africa is an amazing continent, can't wait to explore more of it... Whilst I was there with my ex-girlfriend in 2008, we travelled to Bwindi National Park and went gorilla tracking. After a 2 hr trek through the rainforest, we eventually found them all feeding, we sat metres away from them in the wild for an hour. It was the most unbelievable experience....
Countries I’ve Visited
Barbados, Hungary, Italy, Kenya, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Uganda, United States
Countries I’ve Lived In
Germany, Ireland, United Kingdom
