About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Have meaningful and creative lives of spirit.
ABOUT ME
We're a couple with a homeschooled tween, which means we have crazy polka dotted schedules. But we really wanted to be involved with couchsurfing because it's such an awesome idea so we hope that we can host and travel when we're not attending dance and ski events or otherwise shoveling ourselves out from under parenthood and work stuff.
For work he does computers and I do yoga. We do waldorf-ish, natural, homeschooling sorts of parenting and enjoy our gardens and neighborhood, mostly outdoors.
We have busy lives, but we still love visitors. Generally speaking we have a one or two night maximum because we find that can work quite well. We're delighted to finally have a whole spare room to offer our guests so at this point in time you can have a whole room to yourselves! Quiet, cool privacy. We rarely find that in our couchsurfing adventures and are delighted to offer it to you.
PHILOSOPHY
The truth of who you are is vast, pervasive love.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We really love the people we've met on couchsurfing and we especially love how mobile and connected it makes humans.
We also use the couchsurfing website as a verification process/ character reference whenever possible because it's a great tool.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We accidently found couchsurfing when looking for camping on an expensive island and ended up camping for free (hurray!) in a couchsurfer's yard. We wanted to share our luck with others and return the favour. Couchsurfing is a great way of making travel a little easier and a great way to give back.

Music, Movies, and Books
Mom is into jazz piano trio's and classical choir for music and for books she likes iconoclast, grass roots, nature, brain rotting pulp, how-to, geology, travel, food, cookbooks, ayurveda, earthen homes, Wally Lamb, Unassisted Childbirth by Laura Kaplan Shanley.
Dad likes pop music, especially catchy stuff and all things film.
Kid likes anything dancy, pop a capella groups,Harry Potter, and any tween novels if they don't have bad language .
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Most recently we love that we can kayak with orcas and humpbacks as a family. Mom and daughter took a van trip to California a few years ago and are about to revisit that experience, hopefully with more couchsurfing connections.
We took our kiddo on a 5 day backpacking trip on Molar Pass in Banff National Park when she was 5, on multiple bike tours when she was 4 and on the Iceline trek in Yoho Park and Haida Gwaii when she was 3.
Teach, Learn, Share
Mom can share yoga, ayurveda, parenting, birthing and prenatal, diet choices, navigation, musical: voice- piano and other bits.
Dad can probably help you with your computer. He likes to talk about public policy, sometimes sports, and pretty much anything you'd like to talk about. He's much smarter than anyone knows, but that won't come up. He's just very nice.
Kiddo will talk your ear off about anything.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Mom can garden, troubleshoot composting issues, strategize life navigation, teach private yoga and meditation, tutor musicians.
Dad we call the swiss-army-husband. He's just plain useful for everything.
Kid can entertain, sew, babysit and give fashion advice. You just might not wish to accept it, lol.
