ABOUT ME

a photographer, film-and music maker, i love nature , and cultural pursuits.
i love my family and friends, and my city (been living in berlin now for about 15 years)
i love travelling by myself, love meeting people, doing the unexpected, but most of all LEARNING about different ways of life.
i love cultural diversity, languages, adapting to circumstances spontaneously, travelling with no fixed itinerary.
i like travelling in a minimalist / outdoors fashion (small backpack, bivouac, sleeping rough etc) and can be very happy for hours just listening to birdsong or smelling the forest.

i would like to meet like-minded people (of all age groups / genders), share experiences, maybe do some art project together or just enjoy your city / country and hopefully be able to contribute or share something of myself.

i am open, playful, serious, generous, and have a sense of humour. i am also very interested in anthropology, history, architecture, crafts.

i love kids and all animals.

i believe in the sheer joy of being alive, in beauty, truth, friendship, love and above all in connecting to others, myself and the whole universe.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i am quite new to CS, but since i do not own a credit card, i cannot undergo the verification process.

HOWEVER, since i am featured in the www (just google "David Jazay"), at least you can check that i exist, look the way i look, and am serious about this....

Music, Movies, and Books

i love all kinds of (mostly experimental / avantgarde) music, from contemporary classical to jazz and electronic genres and am very interested in non-western / traditional music cultures.

my all-time favourite films would include antonioni, fellini, herzog and a lot of what was produced in the new hollywood era, i watch a lot of diverse current movies on dvd.

i read a lot of non-fiction (history / anthropology / cultural history).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

most recent:
playing the xaphoon in gola su gorruppu in gennargentu massive (sardinia), a gorge some 20 meters wide but 500 meters high!

Teach, Learn, Share

i mainly have to offer experience in the following:

1) all the stages involved in film making and video art (i have degrees from film schools in munich and leeds and have produced and directed several films, just google "DAVID JAZAY")

2) electronic and acoustic music recording and production (for reference please google my band name "NEVEN DAYVID")
i can also show you how to build a recording studio (acoustic engineering) with a very modest budget

3) travel experiences including: sardinia, morocco, turkey, britain, ireland, hungary, portugal, spain, india, cambodia

4) languages (english, german, hungarian, italian, french)

and i would above all enjoy being inspired and maybe create some music / art together.

...but i also enjoy just sitting around the real / virtual campfire and telling stories...
