ABOUT ME

I don't know what I want to do for the rest of my life except gather experience. Many diverse and disparate passions keep me interested.

I love the beauty of the countryside and coast but cities make my blood boil and heart race. Thrive on energy and diversity and experimentation and history. I seek to devour cities and know them intimately. all of them.

I read and write. write every day.

Ive been in bars and restaurants most of my professional life, with a 2 year break to try teaching english in spain. before that i was a cook and the kitchen is the most important room in the house to me. i love food and drink to a ridiculous extent. however, i think my most valued sense is my sight. i look at everything and i feel with my eyes. sometimes i even taste. and get great pleasure from beauty.

anything that gives me energy i like. live music, warm nights, parties, other lively people.

sometimes i get serious. if it kills the mood, tell me to cut the shit. life is too short to be bummed.

PHILOSOPHY

there have to be more words that start with x than xylophone. but, be open to the possibility that you are entirely wrong.

make use of the opportunity, no matter what. even if youre dead tired, it may never come again.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

done: jumped out of a plane. walked across the north of spain. translated a prophet for the dissemination of his wisdom for a group of hungry travelers
seen: the bright, burst of firey light from the knowing blink of a gypsy woman when she saw a sympathetic soul in my sister on a boat in the aegean sea.
