About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Becoming zen enough to realize I shouldn't bother [was my old mission when I was travelling, but I guess it's never over]

ABOUT ME

Studied physics and mathematics in various places for five years (Belgium, Canada, England). During 2014-2015 I then used my last year of freedom before starting my PhD to indulge in my interest in meditation and traveled for a year across parts of Asia. I loved it so much and learned a great deal (partly about the human mind, but also that trekking is pretty fucking awesome). I made a land route across Nepal, India, Myanmar and China but also visited Sri Lanka and Bhutan (and the USA, again). But anyway, now I am enjoying the PhD life in Dresden, doing research in theoretical physics. I can talk for hours about how awesome the universe is (you are free to interpret that as a good thing, or a warning). In the past year I have discovered I also really like nature and cute babies. I'm too young for kids, but I might buy a plant.

I have had some nice couchsurfing experiences and I am now excited to be on the other side, offering people a nice play to stay. My location is really nice (in Neustadt, the lively part of Dresden--the only place you can actually do something in the evening). I have only recently moved to Dresden (since September) and I have finally settled in (even have internet as of today, yey!). I also have a couch, but it's too small for people to sleep on, so until I buy a spare matress, you would have to bring your own mat, sorry!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In 2013 I drove a 10,000km road trip through USA and the friend I was travelling with introduced me to couchsurfing. Loved it! Did it some more when I was travelling for a year 2014-2015), staying with people in Nepal and India. It's the best!

Now I finally have my own place and I am happy I can repay the community :) I even bought a nice couch, but then I realized it's way too short for people to sleep on... (Midgets always welcome) Maybe at some point I will buy an extra matress, but I guess for now the situation would be that you bring your own mat :/

What I Can Share with Hosts

If the host just wants to offer me a couch and then get back to his own stuff, I am totally cool with that. But I do enjoy when I get the chance to know him/her and indirectly get an idea of how it is to live there. I travel for the experience, and there is little better than the experience of being invited into someone's home and getting to know each other! Making jokes or serious conversations, I love it all :)
