About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To push the limits of my mind, to share in laughter and fun, and to help spread love

ABOUT ME

I've been a gypsy wanderer the past few years (mainly in Asia and Central America) but have just put down roots (with house plants and all!) here in El Paso for at least the next year. This new chapter begins with an intense midwifery program so traveling will be on the backburner for a while. I must say, it feels good to stay put and have a closet again.

PHILOSOPHY

Happiness and love are the most important things to me; everyone deserves them. I try to greet each day with that in mind and carry it forward. I gain strength in trusting that life is a continuous flow, and when the going gets tough I remember, "This too shall pass."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Initially I had only surfed but now that I'm in one spot I'm very happily hosting as well. However, be forewarned: I work 24 hour shifts as well as class so I may not be home or have the energy to do anything, but if you need a spot to crash, let's see if we can make it happen.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Whether it's meeting up with a fellow CSer for dinner, having someone wait up late until my flight has arrived, or being shown around their town and meeting their friends, I have yet to have a negative couchsurfing experience. CSing has also really helped me discover my new city here in El Paso. In fact, these experiences have really instilled a deeper appreciation in me for humanity.

Interests

Catching babies!! I also practice yoga and meditation. This past year I've been holding cacao ceremonies with dance and breathwork with a dear friend and am interested in exploring plant medicine more. I love reading and digging my hands into the dirt. I want to get into rock climbing- I've only been a few times but am totally on board!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love books- being around them, reading them, smelling them...I enjoy non-fiction books generally, although Tom Robbins is one of my favorite authors. A Fine Balance is one of the most moving books I've read. David Deida has been tickling my fancy as of late. Paulo Coehlo "Witch of Portobello" is a good one; really all of his are.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Climbing Wayna Picchu before sunrise to see the clouds break above Machu Picchu
- Hiking Volcan Acatenango in Guatemala, camping overnight and watching it erupt with a lightning storm playing behind it
- Swam with pink dolphins
- Standing in the streets of Varanasi
- Semuc Champey, Guatemala
