ABOUT ME

I am 23, and these days I am spending my time in Russia and Ukraine. I have a Russian visa that lasts for a year, but for one reason or another I am not allowed actually to spend a year there. I am trying to learn Russian. I went and bought a teach yourself Russian book nearly a year and a half ago, thinking it wouldn't be too hard. It is hard. English is everywhere, and being quiet is easy. I look forward to the day when I can, with honesty, say that my Russian is intermediate rather than beginner. I am nearly there. Still pre-intermediate, for the time being.
I started all this because I was interested in Russia and its region. I wanted some insight. Now I have momemntum, and I can't stop.
Brief update to that - I am now 25, have got a job in Moscow and am thinking that the time is coming when I will be able to move my laguage level from intermediate to expert. It has taken a while.

Interests

Politics and history. As well as music, books, people and generally finding, seeing and understanding as many things as possible. And learning Russian!
