About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Smile and let the sun shine in!
ABOUT ME
Well, trying to put a person (especially oneself) into words is always a very tough thing to do, but I will try my best.
I see myself as a friendly energetic person being very curious about the world, other countries, cultures, traditions, food (of course) and obviously people. I am very outgoing and open minded, love to be active (slightly hyperactive as some friends say) and try all sorts of fun sports and generally live with a smile on my face.
My best friends in England call me loopy Lina, I guess they have a reason for that...
PHILOSOPHY
The best way to start a day is with a smile on your face!
Yesterday is history, the future is a mystery and today is a gift - that's why it's called present...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Meetings, gatherings, picnics, parties - I love the CS community! It's always nice to meet people all over the world, exchange and share different ideas, experiences and get to know other cultures. It's also a brilliant way to get in touch with locals everytime when I moved to a new continent, country or city.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
By now I have been on CS for a short while, even though I am still quite a newbie in terms of 1:1 couchsurfing. But I must say that CS changed my life. I made great friends due to CS, I am very active in the meeting and activities section, sleepovers and so on and I had an absolutely brilliant experience couchsurfing at Eduard's place in Barcelona for four days. Now, I am highly looking forward to future activities and experiences.
Interests
Hui, there are actually a lot of things.
Generally (to cut it very very short) everything fun and exciting, this includes all "alternative" sport activities such as hiking, running, cycling, climbing (I love it!) kite- and windsurfing, sailing, dancing, but also cooking, enjoying wine and food, playing board games, exploring new cities and many more.
Travelling is another one of my great passions and meeting people along the way. I also love learning new languages, ideally in the according country:-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well, I am trying to do as many amazing things as I can. I guess it's because of my brother and his foolish idea to give me a book called "101 things you have to do before you die" for Christmas...
Just to name a few of them:
- I cycled over 1000km through the Outback of Australia
- I had a glass of wine with Prince Charles (I think he was drinking Gin Tonic)
- I managed to live in 4 different countries within only 6 months
- I jumped off the Macau tower (the highest bungee jump in the world)
- I returned from Hong Kong (after living in Macau) without taking a single plane - a fantastic journey of around 10,000km - that's why we don't say without a reason "The journey is the destination"
And the most important one - I manage to absolutely love my life, job and friends while enjoying pretty much everything that I am doing :-)
