About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Supporting grassroots NGOs in the developing world with multimedia productions

ABOUT ME

Daunting task! I'm a dreamer and a vagabond, a crusader and a seeker, an oscillator between spurts of intense work and idle meanders. I'm still figuring it out and quite content if I never do.

PHILOSOPHY

Write the story of your life - and don't skimp on the verbs!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've cast my fortunes to the wind, living traveling and working abroad since 2005. I met some amazing people through meetups when I've been stationary and made some great friends through the couches I've surfed.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing in Tokyo with my dad was a real highlight. My dad used to hitch across America in the 60s, but it blew his mind that a stranger would take you into their apartment for the joy of sharing life experiences.

Interests

I love playing ultimate frisbee and practicing yoga. I'm into history, art and culture (especially when it's edible). And any sort of outdoor activity - hiking, cycling, canoeing, snorkeling - you name it, I'm into it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Half my backpack is usually full of books when I travel... I'm trying to read all the Booker Prize winners, but I also love nonfiction and adventure. I have everything on my ipod, but 60s (Dylan/Beatles) and 90s Alt Rock are over-represented. I'm so far behind in movies, but I do love me a Film Festival.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I managed to see a total solar eclipse in western Mongolia. It was mind blowing. Walking jaguars in the Bolivian rainforest was the most reckless time of my life, and sacrificing a buffalo with headhunters on the Burma/India border was the most surreal.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to share my share experiences volunteering around the world and teaching English abroad. Right now I'm starting an NGO, so I'd love to bounce ideas off any humanitarians out there.

I would love to learn more about wwoofing or helpx. I am doing my first farmstay in Spain in April and can't wait to learn more about working the land.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Ecuador, France, Germany, Haiti, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, Nepal, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Viet Nam
