About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Joining the Swedish mafia

ABOUT ME

I'm now in Jacksonville, Florida doing sustainability work. It's a nice area with good weather most of the year and the beach is nearby. Let me know if you are coming through and want to stay.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is a learning process and there is something to be gained from both good and bad experiences- I strive to be as open-minded and positive as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think this site is such a great idea. Most of us have resources (such as a place to stay) which are under-utilized much of the time, so why not share these things and make some great friends in the bargain. Also, in terms of resource use and so forth it is much more sustainable to sleep on someone's couch than to stay in a hotel!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted a few Couchsurfers here in Jacksonville, and I've met quite a few others who have stayed with friends here. All great experiences so far!

Interests

Music, environmental, natural resources and sustainability issues, art and design, reading, doing things outside (camping, hiking, biking, etc.), travelling and meeting people, gardening and cooking, woodworking, photography, spending time with friends and anything that builds positive communities of people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I play mandolin, guitar, banjo and fiddle in traditional American styles, so I listen to a lot of old time and bluegrass music- also love blues, jazz, world music. I would love to hear from anyone who plays.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A few years ago when I was scuba diving at Apo Island in the Philippines a huge green sea turtle swam right next to me and slowly turned his head to look at me as he went past.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach English, music, carpentry and woodworking skills, sustainability, or computer skills such as GIS.

Countries I’ve Visited

Costa Rica, Ireland, Peru, Philippines, Sweden

Countries I’ve Lived In
