Some time ago, I stood on the western coast of Africa feeling lifetimes apart from the familiarity of home and reveling in the concreteness of change, when I looked to the sky and realized the same awe-inspiring stars which I gazed at as a kid were shining bright above me just like they have all along.

That sank deep inside me and layed to rest the very idea of distance.
