About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Figure out how to be financial independent enough to do more travel and less working in life.
ABOUT US
We've been together now for over 25years, but despite being together for so long we aren't glued at the hip either. We both enjoy a night out with friends, old and new, and discussing just about anything and everything over drinks. We took a year off work and Rick quit his job so we could travel in 2009 in the South Pacific. But alas, we had to quit our travels sooner than later due to (sigh) the usual reason, wilting funds.
Now our perpetual re-evaluating of our lives has led us to a new plan--both of us attended maritime college in Owen Sound, Ontario. We just started our new careers and look forward to seeing where they will take the two of us.
PHILOSOPHY
Do not fear death but fear a life not lived. We try and balance tomorrow with today, not forsaking one for the other.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My travels have taught me that the best highlights are usually in making connections with people, whether those are temporary or ones that lead to permanent friendships. Travel is always enhanced by great people along the way.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Awesome experiences couchsurfing in NZ, great experiences hosting at home.
Interests
Live music, tallship sailing, the game of Ultimate. Maggie is also into running and HIT workouts. Rick is into taking apart and building computers. We also both enjoy listening and learning from other people's life stories and experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books
Our annual summer highlight is Winnipeg's legendary Folk Festival in Bird's Hill Park. We enjoy a huge variety of music. Maggie is particularly partial to live music, mostly blues and folk music. As for movies, well there are several favourites, maybe too many to list.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2009 we actually extricated ourselves from the rut! The frogs jumped from the pot that was boiling them alive slowly--ah yes, to have the time to truly relish life again, the good and the bad. We love to travel.
That and a whole bunch of cool stuff Maggie saw sailing through the South Pacific and both Poles.
