About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet new people, find new places, have adventures, expand my horizons, have fun!

ABOUT ME

Just moved to Austin, Texas from Portland. My roommates and I hosted in Portland, and I'd like to keep that up here. Also finding myself between jobs at the moment (left job in Portland to move here), and would like to take advantage of the free time to do some cheap travel myself! If you visit me in the near future, you might have to bear with me that I'm still getting acquainted with all the good places to go here/things to do myself... but I think it'd be fun to explore stuff with an out-of-towner too!

PHILOSOPHY

We're all in the same boat... let's keep it afloat!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted various people, and stayed on people's couches through CouchSurfing, the usual. I guess I've done that before participating through the site too:)... but I do enjoy the experience of hosting strangers, and meeting the die hard travelers that are involved in the project is always cool too.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Although sometimes people who aren't involved in the project say it's crazy to let strangers stay in your house, I haven't a bad experience yet. I just drove across the country alone, and not only were people willing to put me up in their houses at short notice, but I had friends of friends through the project who I'd never met getting in touch to ask if I needed a place to stay, or anything else, on the drive. I think that tells you everything you'd need to know about the people involved here. And like I said, I love hearing my surfers' travel stories... and having free places to stay worldwide, for a broke young person, is pretty great:).
