ABOUT ME

People tend to say I'm a very friendly, outgoing, and open-minded person. As much as I love watching TV, I love getting outside and doing things.. especially skiing, playing soccer, and hiking. I'm a very easy-going person, I prefer to just go with the flow rather than always have things planned out. It's all about living in the moment!!

I'm between year 3 and 4 of university in Calgary. I'm taking a double degree program of mathematics and education! I've worked the past 3 summers as a landscaper, mostly in lawn and garden care, eventually becoming a foreman with my own truck and crew! But the best job I've ever had was delivering pizza. (FREE pizza!)

I've spent all 21 years of my life growing up in Calgary, so I couldn't wait to travel and have countless new experiences. I took this year off school to travel for 6 months. I left in Oct 2009 to go to Tahiti, Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji!

And now that I'm back I'm looking forward to hosting all sorts of people in my city!

I've donated to the website, and surfed plenty of couches on my 6 month trip around the South Pacific. And now it's my turn to host :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing ROCKS!!
I've stayed with countless amazing hosts throughout the South Pacific, including:
Tahiti, Auckland, Rockhampton, Agnes Water (QLD), Hobart & Stanley (Tasmania), Adelaide (SA), Apollo Bay, Melbourne (VIC), Sydney, Newcastle, and Port Macquarie (NSW).

I've been hosting people for a few months now, and have also taken some new friends to the mountains for a hike!

Interests

Swimming. Eating (mostly food that is not good for you). Sampling cheeses. Walking barefoot down a sandy beach. Chocolate + peanut butter. Handstands. Goon. Slapping that goon. Scuba diving. Hot chocolate. Rock climbing. Climbing mountains. Climbing houses. Watching stars. Getting new music onto my ipod. Sharing music. Rock Band & Guitar Hero. Floating down rivers. Rainforests. Discovering new things. Falling asleep at the beach. Reading a book (or sleeping) in a hammock. Camping. Campfires. S'mores. Pajama pants.

I love music with a passion - listening, making, playing, remixing... I can play the piano, saxophone, and guitar (but not that well!).

I love to party... with friends, or just going out and meeting new people. Clubbing and dancing go hand in hand as my newest favorite thing to do. I'm always looking for good times, so whenever I get invited to party, I'll be there!

I'm also a water person. Waterskiing, surfing, wakeboarding, snorkelling, scuba diving - LOVE it.

I'm a huge outdoors person. I've grown up with my family always going on mountain biking trips, hiking mountains, camping overnight in the wild next to wild deer, skiing... what can I say, I love the Rocky Mountains :) Possibly the best smell in existence is the smell of campfire. Maybe with some marshmallows... or cheddar smokies over it.

One of my biggest passions in life is skiing. It's probably the one reason why it would be hard for me to ever permanently leave Western Canada :)

Watching the sunrise AND sunset above the clouds at the top of Haleakala volcano in Maui (10,000 ft!).

Scuba diving with sharks in Bora Bora, at the Great Barrier Reef, and in Fiji.

Surfing the East Coast of Australia.

Swimming in a pod of 400 dolphins in New Zealand.

Skydiving twice - over a beach in OZ, and over a glacier in NZ!

Cat skiing near Revelstoke, BC.
