About Me
CURRENT MISSION
hitchhiking across America from June 10 to July 11
ABOUT ME
I am a 41 year old, professional musician, living on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Australia. I immigrated to Australia from America about 12 years ago. I am married with two beautiful daughters (4 and 1).
I love travelling most for the personal growth that occurs through meeting and learning from people outside our normal, daily life routines.
PHILOSOPHY
The heart of my philosophy is UNITY. The sooner we wake up to this, the sooner we transcend the 'illusion of separation'.....what a world we will inhabit!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I will be hitchhiking across America this June 10th - July 11th, filming an 'on the road' documentary. Hitchhiking and couchsurfing go way back as old friends!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
While hitchhiking up to Mackay, Queensland, I was picked up by a Couchsurfer called, Israel, in a convertible Porsche! He told me all about Couchsurfing, then whipped out his laptop and help me sign-up. Two hours later, upon arriving in Rock Hampton, I received a response from a couchsurfing host, a lovely German woman called Monika. Great experience staying with her, immediately showing me the quality of this system/movement!
Interests
Life: all of it! Good music, live music, travel, reading, being, conversation, learning, loving.
I'm currently most interested in digging deep for the courage to live one's deepest truth. Dream big, maintain the vision, and go for it tenaciously, but with trust in the heart.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Shantaram by Gregory Roberts
Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
The Power of Now by Eckart Tolle
Music: These waters are wide. We can talk when we meet. I have 'open ears'!
Movies: I gravitate to European cinema and other foreign films, though Hollywood occassionally surprises with something worth watching. Australia has put out some beauties through the years...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiked across America in 2004, from New York City to Los Angeles, then up to Vancouver, Canada. (a six week oddyssey).
I have written a book on this trip and about hitchhiking, called: "By Grace And Thumb (Hitchhiking America in the Age of 'Terror')
