About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Just live, learn, teach and enjoy small things as much as I can!

ABOUT ME

Hmm, what to tell about me. The most you can know about someone you have to find out yourself! words on a profile can not tell this, or I should write my lifestory but i prefer to just tell this if you want to know ;-)!
What I can tell you about myself, is that I like to meet a lot of different people, that I love to share, like to help others, I love languages and cultures, music, art, theatre and dance! I love to laugh, to talk, to walk, to be quiet (sometimes), to have fun, to act funny, to learn, to 'teach', to share experiences, visions and knowledge. And yes, well, what more..
I don't know. Maybe you'd like to find out more yourself :-)

PHILOSOPHY

Care for life, the world: for everyting around you, all the people, the animals and nature.. But try not to become too serious or strict with yourself and others, or life won't care for you.
Why should you live if you don't enjoy it? And what can you give people if you cannot even give them an honest and happy smile?
So, care about yourself too, do the things you feel good about and which you love. Enjoy!

Si tu veux l'arc en ciel tu dois accepter le plui!
( if you want a rainbow, you have to accept the rain)

Look around! Please dear friends, never ever forget to REALLY look around and experience what you see. In stead of seeing what you asume to see, or what you took for granted..

People who can enjoy even the rain must be quite happy people, right? But you know what? You can teach yourself to enjoy even the rain. So, everybody can be quite happy. Just start to laugh when you feel the rain while you are cycling from home to work or school.

If you point with your forefinger to anything around, other people or whatever else.. Don't forget that you point with four other fingers towards yourself.

Everything is energy. Everything is one. And in the same time everyting and everyone is unique and special cause we are all part of the "whole" and the energy in our own special ways. If you'd take one part out of all this, the whole thing would change..

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Spring and summer 2009 I traveled around during 3 months and sometimes got hosted by couchsurfers and often I got just hosted by people I met or via via people I met. I also hosted some nice people in my place when I was living in Maastricht. That was a lot of fun! Now I am living in Heerlen and still open to meet and connect to other travelers and people from where ever.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a few couchsurfing experiences while traveling through Israel and Spain , Slovenia (special thanks to Helena Zele!!! ) Croatia, Portugal (special thanks to Ale!!!) and one in Hasselt (Belgium). Furthermore, besides couchsurfing, I have been to people, got hosted by people I met by traveling or people who have met friends of mine by traveling. Allways nice if someone helps you, want to meet you and host if they don't even know you or not so well! very good :-D
Of course I had also some super nice experiences with people staying at my place. I remember a very crazy desert dinner with a lot of chocolate with a guest from cologne who stayed for a week. Or this nice couple who gave me and my boyfriend a very comfortable introduction into acroyoga and like this I can go on and on :-D

Interests

Friends and family.
Art: dance theatre music poetry!
History
Middle east
West africa
East europe
People! and their funny behaviors..
Peace or something else irrealistic but lovely to dream about and act towards in small ways. No need to believe I'll be saving the world. But saving myself and a few others would be allready quite something :-p

Nature: walking, cycling, watching, being amazed about it.
Old cities, new cities. Trashy cities as well as vibrant and cultural boosted cities.
Enjoying live with nothing or not to much! For example: enjoy to watch just some ants walking from the one side of the path to the other.

Sunshine rain rainbows, storm,
flowers, trees, birds, desserts

Making songs and texts/ poets while cycling or whenever
cooking non-existing 'recipies'.
......
However, I like too many things!
Did I mention I like people? ( or at least quite a lot of them ;-). Sometimes nature is even a better partner to spend time with though :-D

Music, Movies, and Books

Especially arthouse movies, but it depends on my mood.
Terry Gilliam is a very good director! Or Stanly Kubrick for example.
A few of my favourites: Tideland, The Horseboy, The science of sleep, Bin Jip, Gadjo Dilo, Happines
music: a lot! from singer songwriter, americana, folk, blues, jazz, reggae, ska, worldmusic!!!, soul, funk to dubstep drum n bass breakbeats, breakcore, tekno!
On this moment I am very absorbed by one beauty of The Fleetfoxes: the shrine an argument.
books: as a kid used to read a lot, anything. now have not so much concentration anymore but i try. Like to read poetry, youth literature, prentbooks! books about other cultures, especially african and middle eastern, absurdistic books, funny books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Maybe all not to AMAZING, but interesting enough for me to write down here!
- sleeping in a bedouin tent in the negev desert, watching the very dark night and stars, waking up there, celebrating my sisters birthday, seeing the beautifully Ramon crater there!
- another thing: hitchhiking with someone I didn't really now (friend of a friend of mine, I once met before) to France to walk there, 2 weeks, a piece of the pelgrimsroute! Such a good experience, nothing but eating, sleeping, walking and enjoying!
- walking up the mount sinai without a guide or group, just me and a friend met by traveling, sleeping there in our sleepingbags, up on the mountain, seeing the sunset, seeing the sunrises, meeting the bedouines there, talking with them, taking the time to be there and enjoy! That was so nice.
- floating in the dead see, that's just a special feeling!
- living and traveling in palestine. Working with an amazing and beautifull phisically disabled woman.
-very awsome squat and community garden run by great great people in Porto
living in Landbouwbelang. Cultural freezone in Maastricht.
-Living in Cairo during the elections, was pretty nice, intense and interesting!
-Living for 4 months in a beautiful dutch town in the hills in a small buddhist community learning so much from them!

- Meeting amazing people anywhere in the world at any time with who you could feel a deep connection.. BAM! while you just met and only will know eachother for a short while as if you share your whole life with them. just like that.. .
