About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Help me help you.

ABOUT ME

Colorful. I like trying new things. I love to make people laugh, even at my own expense. I'm usually goofy / witty during conversations, but I have a serious side as well.

I want to be a jack of all trades.

I've lived in a few cities in the USA, and I've lived in Sydney, Australia for about a year and a half in 2009/2010. I'm a landscape architect and aspiring adult!

PHILOSOPHY

Just be a good person, I guess. That's how my parents raised me, and it may have stuck.

Someone once told me, "Be a leaf on the shoulders of the mighty river." Cliche quote, but it's not a bad way to live your younger years.

I love sunshine and warm weather!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Technically, I haven't surfed anyone's couch, but instead have formed friendships through meeting up and parties and THEN crashing on couches of those friends. Everyone I've met through this network has been warm and open.

Interests

Making up new words, shizzlecack, cooking, mountain biking, cycling, food, ceramics, graffiti, art, museums, drawing, snowboarding, traveling, kayaking, running, yoga, parks, hiking, sucking at surfing but doing it anyways, playing games, crebflef, going out with friends, meeting people and learning about them, making friends, the outdoors, photography, observing landscape architecture and architecture, going to concerts, grebp, walking around town, guitar, lamp :)

But what really gets me smiling is making stuff. Like costumes for parties and Halloween. Love constructing things and seeing other people's creative side. LOVE IT!

Movies: Forrest Gump, The Big Lebowski, It's All Gone Pete Tong, Thank You for Smoking, American Psycho, Dumb and Dumber, The Dark Knight, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Crash, and of course...Ernest Goes to Camp

Books: Currently reading Into the Wild.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A buddy and I hiked up a mountain at 3 in the morning in Boulder, Colorado so we could watch the sunrise over the city and flat horizon. To our backs were the moon and the bigger mountains. Amazing scenes 360 degrees around us.

I also saw a crescent moon turn blood orange and set below the hills in the Hamptons while on a cliff.

I guess I like looking up to the sky.

Teach, Learn, Share

I taught some kids how to throw clay on a pottery wheel. By taught, I mean, I made one bowl for them then let them get their hands dirty and try it. Easy day.

I teach whatever computer knowledge I have to others at work, and I also soak up as much knowledge like that as possible. So much to learn in my field.

I want to learn everything! I strive to be well rounded. Once upon a time, I learned how to weld for fun, then that little experience actually once landed me a job years later. You never know what will come from learning a new skill.

I generally cook for myself and experiment with recipes, so maybe you could be my taste tester if you let me cook for you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Respect. I can cook too. Would love to make a fun meal with hosts. Breaking bread is where it's at.
