ABOUT ME

I'm a student in a unique and wonderful osteopathic medical school in Southern Maine, USA. My primary interest is in treating patients coping with homelessness, substance abuse, and mental illness. I'm very serious about this, but to be effective I need to have a lot of joy in my life!

Travel this Summer is to make up for the times when I'll be in a hospital or otherwise restricted from leaving the confines of a hospital! I also hope to practice osteopathic treatments on fellow travelers I encounter along the way.

I love dancing, hiking, anything outdoors, I swim and am a music addict. I'm happy with all furry creatures and am thoroughly curious and fascinated by all humans.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't know what "God" is, but I find that I'm happiest when I challenge myself to see beauty in everything and everyone around me.

Also, if something doesn't seem right, look at it from a different perspective.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have not been an "official" couchsurfer through this website, although I've been a host to many travelers/

I take pride in showing people an excellent time, whether as a host or a surfer. I now have a skill set that lets me help relieve any aches and pains! Honestly, I need the practice!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As a native New Yorker, I've had a flurry of couchsurfers - primarily lost confused travelers I've met at events who seemed lovely and needed a place to stay.

I'm now having one such favor returned by a lovely man in London, and hope to build more couchsurfer relationships in my Great European Adventure

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy classic and distopian science fiction and fiction (George Orwell, Ray Bradbury, Robert Heinlein, Aldous Huxley, Margaret Atwood, Arthur C Clarke), always searching for new books to read.

Music ranges the gamut. Particularly hooked on Velvet Underground, The Kinks, The Clash, Bob Dylan, also into TV on the Radio, RJD2, DJ Shadow, whatever it is you please to turn me on to

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last night, three wonderful friends from New York came over to my home in Maine. Over the course of the night, i examined each one of them, and was able to treat their back strains from their long drive. CRACK CRACK CRACK went their backs, a very proud moment. After one year of med school, I think I'm not doing half bad.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy (OMT) with you. This is an anatomy based set of techniques to resolve "somatic dysfunction," or muscle strains, constriction, tension, rotated vertebrae, pelvis, etc. It feels damn good.
