About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy life to the fullest. See and do all I can and meet great people!

ABOUT ME

I'm a fun loving guy that will give anything a go. I love nothing more than a good, spontaneous adventure.
I seem to have a new hobby each week or so, but main ones are travel, photography, writing, performing magic, massage, surfing and paragliding (trying to get into basic acro at the moment). Seasonal sports of skydiving, snowboarding and scuba diving.

If you want to check me out more to make sure I'm a real person, you can check out my Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=626772305

PHILOSOPHY

Live life to the full.
A few years ago I heard a saying that changed my life and made it just so much better.
Ready?

"If you have two options, take the crazy one".

This means whenever you have an opportunity, you do it, even if you feel tired or just dont want to do it. There's been so many times when I really didn't want to do something, but then remembered my motto, did it and had an amazing time and was so glad I got off my arse and did it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used to host when I lived in Shanghai. Totally loved it! I love the honesty of leaving my office to meet someone I'd never met at the train station, give them my keys and a map to my place, then tell them to make themselves at home and that'd be another 5 hours before I'm home. Loved it even more when people turned out to be awesome and you leave as really good friends and even see each other again in another country.

So far I've only couchsurged twice but loved it and keen to do a lot more!

Movies: Rarely watch TV, but love a good comedy

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been hanging alone from the wing of a small plane at 140km/h skimming just over the tops of clouds. Indescribable feeling!

Just after losing 6kg due to food poising, a leg in bandages from 3rd degree burns from a failed fire jump and with no fighting experience at all, I took a challange of fighting 3 rounds at a kickboxing stadium in Thailand. Result: Broken nose, two black eyes but stayed in till the end, even though I didn't touch him once. Proudest moment of my life when a professional kickboxer who saw it afterwards asked for the honour to shake my hand. Turns out the guy I fought was the heavyweight tae kwon do champion of Sweden. He said even himself as a professional fighter would not fight him!!

Have been surfing with dolphins under the most amazing sunset in beautifully clean green water.

Walked alone in the sahara desert at midnight under a new moon. Was so dark you couldn't see your hand in front of your face. Got lost for a little while trying to find the campsite!

Flew to Iceland, met a girl at a hostel, rented a 4x4 and drove 2000km around iceland, sleeping in the car on top of mountains in the middle of nowhere. Incredibly cold (I didn't have a jacket). Did this for 5 days; crossing rivers, sleeping next to glaciers etc. Unreal adventure!!

A misunderstanding by the organisers lead to me being Chairman of a technical event at an International Conference on Sustainable Energy Technology under the title of "Professor". I was the least qualified person there!
