Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm relatively new to the couch surfing phenomenom but consider it to be an exciting opportunity to meet some fab people by building connections and networks. I think it is a great concept and in this increasingly globalised world, why cant we all be more sharing and open to each other?

Interests

Meeting new people, blaming it on the alcohol, Dancing, Painting, Arts & Craft, Museums and Galleries, Singing karoake ( I like 2 fink im rather gud!); ), photography, Taking alot of pictures and/or posing in them, the smell of coffee & freshly baked bread, Going on Road trips with the music blasted out loud whilst getting lost, Travelling & exploring new places.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite Music: A good helping of RnB and HipHop, Cheesy tunes, old school Motown/Soul and Jazz tunes, dance, electro & funky house, DnB and anything with a good beat!!
A very varied taste in music indeed & generally I can boogie to anything!

Favorite TV Shows:Family Guy (Stewie's a legd!), Heroes, CSI, Prison Break, Desperate Housewives, Ally McBeal, Hustle, Pushing Daises.

Favorite Movies:The Pursuit of Happyness, Bad boys 1&2 (love Will Smith!!), Edward Scissorshand, The Notebook, Hairspray, Moulin Rouge & most musicals!, quirky french inspired films such as Amelie & Chocolat, All DISNEY!!, Memoirs of a Geisha, Clueless, Jason Statham's adrenaline rush films ie Crank, Transporter 1&2 etc..Just to name a few!

Favorite Books:Memoirs of a Geisha, The DaVinci code, The Lovely Bone, Janet Evanovich crime novels, and more recently, all I seem to be reading is Public Relations/corporate Communications based textbooks!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visiting the Grand Canyon in America, standing at the edge of the cliff and looking down.

One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean.

Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?”

The youth replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean.
The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.”

“Son,” the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish?
You can’t make a difference!”

After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish,
and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said…”
I made a difference for that one.”
