About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live in the present moment.
I live in London normally, but have rented out my flat in London to live in Portugal for January/February 2015. In London, I work at a busy independent multi-media design studio as a Creative and the Business Development Manager. The company is new and so I am very busy. I have moved to Portugal to concentrate on internal projects for the design company but to also make my first film, a Western film.
I am currently based in São Martinho das Amoreiras.
This is a very special time for me, as it has been years since I traveled or had any time to myself, and I cant even remember the last time I worked on a personal project like this Western film. I very much like being in the countryside here. I am looking to grow spiritually and to center myself while in this beautiful country.
I would love to meet like-minded people here who would like to grow and discover with me. I want to travel around Portugal.
ABOUT ME
I am normally very shy but when I do have conversations with people I am very open and straightforward.
I love to read and listen to music. In London, our studio is very involved with the music industry. I don’t think I would have remained in London for so long without having access to such a special life in London.
I was born in the US and grew up on the East Coast, but I was born to a Polish family, so my accent is soft and most people actually think I am European. I have spent the last 6 years living in France, Poland and UK.
My flat in London is littered with books and magazines on design, art, architecture travel, culture and music, although I am usually too busy to read them : )
My rented house in Portugal is littered with books and magazines on filmmaking, business management and traveling Portugal and I am happy that I can find the time to read them here.
I am a dog person.
I run and practice yoga regularly. I practice yin yoga, but mix it with some power flows and twists sometimes. I can teach you a routine if you like.
I dabble in aromatherapy and perfume. I have lots of essential oils and like to experiment with them.
I love to swim. I even go swimming at the beaches in Portugal in January...I know, crazy right?
I can surf but rarely get to.
I love to party, but don’t like to get drunk.
I am always smiling and don’t take myself too seriously. I make a fool of myself at least once a day. People who are too serious tend to get shrouded in judgements. A good sense of humor is necessary to find truth in life, as it’s all a bit ridiculous, isn’t it?
PHILOSOPHY
Everything is perfect in conclusion.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been a member since I met my first couch surfer in Poland in 2009, while I was spending a summer there. I was living and working at a hostel and then on a friends couch, so I was only available for coffee or a drink. Afterwards, I returned to finish my university and had to put my participation with CS on hold. After I finished university, I traveled around South America alone. I met many travelers and natives from the CS website. There were may experiences that were positively unique in their own ways. I don't know how better to explain them than with a smile : ) Then I moved to London for a Masters programme and have been so very busy I only met a handful of surfers. Until now...
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
It was almost midnight in Wroclaw, Poland when I had just gotten off the plane. I was in the last leg of my journey from Amsterdam, Holland to Krakow, Poland. On a bus going from the airport to the train station, I translated Polish into English for an Italian stranger. He was very appreciative and he offered me a place to sleep at his girlfriend's apartment in Wroclaw encase I missed my train (as the delayed flight landed late in the night), and left me his number. In spectacular style, I did miss my train, the last train of the night. I had no where to go and very little money. I planned on just sleeping at the station, until I saw the night-time crowd and realised how bad of an idea that was. So, I called the number and met up with the couple at a restaurant. They gave me an mattress to sleep on and took me out to a very nice bar downtown. They even showed me around the city the next day! It was a lucky experience and the couple suggested I join couch surfers, since they were members. So here I am! Thank you Luca!
