About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet as many people as possible, learn about things I've never fathomed, and become one with my bike and the rode... oh, and sleep outside a lot

ABOUT ME

Well, I love bicycles and sociology (I also hate sociology). I'm anti-everything, or maybe pro-anything. I enjoy apples and like to make my own mead. Nature is my friend, but I recognize I'm its enemy. I would call my philosophy Anarcho-Bicyclism. I love meeting people, they are the best and worst thing ever created.

I'm a bicycle mechanic and would love to teach you to fix your bike (for free of course).

I spend most of my time gardening and with friends.

PHILOSOPHY

Capitalism is a problem.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I offer to host people when I can and surf when I travel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Used CS a few times on a bike trip from dirty Jersey down through the dirty south to New Orleans. CouchSurfed with a few people in Mexico during a five-week trip from Guadalajara to the southeast to Quintana Roo. Hosted one person but would love to host more people.

Interests

bikes, people, love, anarchism, trash, clamming by hand in the lake and cooking them over a fire in a beer can full of wine, time, building community gardens, learning about things I don't know about, sociology, relativism, late night conversations, teaching people to do this i know how to do, learning things other people know how to do but i don't, destroying capitalism, THE WHEEL OF TIME--an incredible series by robert jordan, shooting my shotgun, salt water, rivers, lakes, mountains, woods and beaches.

Music, Movies, and Books

Writing: Michael Pollan, Harry Potter (fuck yeah!), Peter F. Hamilton, Robert Jordan.
Music: Most. Including, but not limited to, punk, political hip hop, gangster rap, folk, metal, rock (is that still a genre?), and even some country recently.
Movies: Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Pulp Fiction, Shawshank Redemption, Saving Private Ryan, Paprika, Waking Life, The Warriors, Platoon, Coffee & Cigarrettes

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The top of the mountain. Sky diving. Biking to New Orleans from Princeton, New Jersey. Living in Mexico. Learning Swedish.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to fix just about anything on a bike (especially older bikes, not so much some new high-end stuff)--I especially enjoy teaching people how to build bikes. I'm also happy to give lessons on some tasty foods, especially hot salsas.
Would love to learn welding, carpentry, plumbing, and electric. I also want to learn about bike powered machines.
