ABOUT ME

Im a 39 year old living near Columbus OH. I am pretty passionate about the people in my life but love to always meet other people with interesting stories and experiences. I love books (preferably American history focusing on 18th and 19th century)and just learning something new. The process of keeping our minds fed in the pursuit of knowledge is exciting

PHILOSOPHY

Treat others with respect and you'll be treated likewise. Also- our lives are only as rich and rewarding as we make it. I try to give my time to causes and groups that look to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Nothing really to say here. I have read about it from a third source (newspaper). Love the idea behind this and think this is a great resource to open ourselves up to an always growing list of friends.

兴趣

I've always wanted to travel to Eastern Europe. I don't know why other than I took several courses on Russian history and politics and my number #1 dream trip would be to travel from Moscow to St. Petersburg with stops in between.

I also like good food and always open to trying anything new.

Fav. Movies-- Schindler's List, Notebook, Cold Mountain, and then anything relating to history such as Gettysburg, etc. I also LOVE documentaries on various topics. Anything that makes me think or learn something new.

Fav. Books-- Wow! I like the classics. Just read War & Peace a few months ago but recently just started reading more along the lines of economics and finance. I'm hoping to educate myself in this area so that I can hold intelligent conversation.

Fav. Music-- I'm pretty eclectic and listen to just about anything. Depending on my moods I like classical, jazz, rock, new age. My collection of music is pretty spread out from Tom Petty to Billie Holiday to Mozart/Tchaichovsky

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I can't say I have done anything that would amaze people. But I have traveled to quite a few places. The two that stick out in my mind in my travels are prob. watching a storm roll in far off in the Atlantic while sitting on the beach in Cape Cod and then related to that...watching the sunrise in Nantucket. I love to get up early when I travel and just watch nature & life going on around me.

I like to think I can share my knowledge in American history in general and so for those who may want to know more about our country's rich past can always send me a message. As for pracical skills like teaching a language-- I wish I posessed that. :)
