ABOUT ME

My name is Natasha. A man once asked me "Who are you?" and wanted me to answer in one sentence. And to tell the truth i couldnt. Maybe one day i'll know myself well enough to do that but untill then i'll try to describe myself in a couple of lines or more.

I live in Copenhagen, Denmark and at the moment I'm studying Sociology at Copenhagen University. I live with my boyfriend and one of our friends in the eastern part of the city and we are always open to new visitors.

I'm a very easygoing and outgoing person and I love to meet new people. I like to think of myself as creative, open minded, optimistic, tolerant and very curious. I've always got some new project going on and its often that i dont really have the time to sit still. But when i do i love to listen to good music - which varies a lot according to my mood - watch a movie with my roomies or get out some creative energy by drawing, painting or what else comes to my mind.
I'm very interested in art and theather.

Finally i've got a serious case of travel-feever. It's when i'm travelling that i feel most alive and challenged. I've lived in Bruxelles and Ouagadougo with my family and two years ago i went to Brisbane, Australia to live and study for a year. I've travelled most of Europe both with my family, my friends and by myself. I've travelled in Africa a couple of times. Last year I travelled 5 months trip to India, Nepal, Thailand and Cambodia. And most recently I've travelled 4 months in Ecuador, Colombia, Cuba and Mexico.
On my travels I've fallen in love with the ingeniousness of hitch hiking - its the perfect combi of cheap travelling and meeting interesting people.
But the thing about this travel feever is that it always leaves you longing for new adventures so i'm often dreamig about my next trip :)

So yes this was a bit more than one sentence but hopefully it gives a bit of a picture of me. Dont hesitate to write if your way is passing through Copenhagen - im always happy to meet up for a drink and give a tour on my Christiania-bike :)

PHILOSOPHY

I have two guidelines that I try to live by and often repeat to myself. Firstly, don't be afraid to try new things even if you are really bad at them. Secondly, you don't get less from sharing - actually it only gives us all more! Share your food, share your couch, share your time, share your knowledge, share your country - sharing is caring :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first experience with couchsurfing was while hitch hiking around Italy - had one amazing experience with the best guy in Napoli and one horrible one with two coke selling idiots in Florence. I've since hosted a bunch of amazing people in my appartment in Copenhagen. Finally I had the pleasure of couchsurfing a couple of times in India.

Music, Movies, and Books

Im a big David Lynch fan (ask me anything about Twin peaks), I enjoy Tarantino movies, Jim Jarmusch movies as well as a wide variety of other films. I also like watching short films.

I've just refound my joy for reading books and i've recently been reading Kafka, Murakami's "The windup bird cronical", Milan Kunderas "The unbearable lightness of being" and I'm currently starting Camus' "The outsider" and Gandhi's autobiography.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Participated in rebuilding an old forge into a volenteerly driven culture oasis. Its amazing to experience what we can do together without involving money - gives me hope!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach, learn, share - let's do it!
I just learned how to fold my hands and wistle through them so it sounds like an owl - if anyone is interested in learning that ;) And I love cooking!
