About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finish the decorating.

ABOUT ME

I'm 28 years old and work for a small renewable energy company here in Edinburgh. I'm an active member of the local music scene and work as a dj at a couple of clubs here in town playing mainly Jamaican and Latin music. I'm a classic Libra so I am honest, loyal and forgiving, will sit and talk for hours, but will never be able to decide what to cook for dinner! I've visited many different countries around the world, predominantly in Europe but as far afield as Japan. I love meeting new people, especially whilst traveling, as being out of your comfort zone and normal surroundings seems to bring out the best in people and they make much more of an effort to open up and talk!

PHILOSOPHY

If I'm honest, I don't feel I know what this is yet. I suppose the principles by which I lead my life are basically just to be open, friendly, welcoming and accepting, but I can't say I've formulated these beliefs into any distinct doctrine. Yet.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Nothing but good!

Interests

Hmmmm? The New, ie experiences, people, places etc. Traveling, renewable energies, the sea, flight of the conchords, my 1983 VW campervan, djing, sinking my arms right up over my elbows into a large sack of coffee beans, rock climbing, reading, latin and asian cinema, riding around on bicycles, sleep, politics - up to a point, music, dancing, more dancing, falling over from too much dancing, big cities and the knowledge that outside of them exist wild and remote wildernesses, cooking, vinyl records, staring at maps, finding dusty old broken things in the back of cupboards and trying to fix them, surrealism and being challenged.

Music, Movies, and Books

Yes please!!! Last film I saw was The Piano Teacher by Michael Haneke. Last song I listened to was Preta Pretinha by Novos Baihanos. Last book I read was Patty Diphusa by Pedro Almodovar.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The first thing that comes to mind is night time skinny dipping in Cornwall in amongst the most beautiful display of phosphorescence I've ever seen.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can fix your bicycle, teach you to juggle, take you rock climbing or build you a wind turbine. Whatever you want! :p

I really want to improve my Portuguese, learn how to take better photographs, cook decent vegetarian food and learn to dance salsa!

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Croatia, France, Greece, Japan, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Brazil, United Kingdom
