ABOUT ME

I'm a grad student at UVic who wants to see the world. Personality wise, I am a multidimensional, thrill seeking kind of guy who hates the norm and the routine and has a fling for danger, adventure, the weird and the interesting.

PHILOSOPHY

When you buy a turkish carpet, look for Van cats.
Ketchup doesn't belong in a Mexican restaurant.
Try to find an original Osmond Hamdi Bey painting to gaze at for at least 20 minutes of your life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Meeting with travellers on occasion for beer in downtown Victoria, and providing a couch or room to who ever may need one.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted several times and used it to get into contact with several hostel owners in Turkey and Georgia for cheap lodgings. However, I have yet to actually surf another person's couch.

Interests

Trekking, water skiing, rock climbing, soccer, reading board games, conversation, world geography, world history, and many other things that just happened to not pop into my mind when I wrote this.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I backpacked my way through southern Turkey along the Mediterranean and the Aegean starting at Antalya finishing in Izmir. Did the same thing in Eastern Turkey from Trabzon to Diyabakir I also travelled by bus throughout the Caucuses and saw Armenia and Georgia.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know how to cook salmon as well as anyone, so when I have guests I sometimes make salmon for them, and tell them how I do it. I also know all the best places to visit in the United States so if you are planning a trip and need advice, I would be more than happy to help.
