About Me

CURRENT MISSION

i need strange.

ABOUT ME

I work... a lot less than i used to. Attended university for awhile, but found that i wasn't actually there :) Then a beautiful girl broke my heart into pieces too small to be fully recovered but taught me about bikes and left me with one of the strongest passions i've felt. I have a strong desire to learn as much as possible from as many different sources as possible and I've found that traveling greatly quenches that. I love natural water, girly shit, an occasional cigarette, and coasting down large hills with no traffic; strongly dislike bitter cold, snobby people, pavement-choked metropolis cities, and America's version of Lucky Strikes. I've found myself to be a real tattoo and book junkie, side effects of being enamored with Austin, Texas.

If you are in Austin, consider yourself lucky ;)

PHILOSOPHY

the older i get
the more i realize
i don't know shit.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I build within my own community and share with whoever would like to learn.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

yeah, i mean, no axe murderers yet or anything.

Interests

I'm striving to understand and learn more about human nature, graphic novels, and the future of genetics.
I'd also like to become more involved in volunteer work abroad, if anyone has any useful information it would be very welcomed.

Music, Movies, and Books

Cinema junkie. Spent 3 years doing film projection. I love movies and am open to any discussion on them. I am not making a list for you, although I strongly recommend movies titled 'Princess' (Denmark), 'Secretary' (America), and 'Martyrs' (France). the three that changed my life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling, I'd say the entire duration of a hike and bike trek to and along the Inca Trail. It was one of the most physically demanding things I've ever done to date, but it was also the most beautiful. I feel like i remember every glance of that jungle. I know I still see them when I sleep.
I suppose I think of 'amazement' in terms of landscape.

Oh, and the ceviche in Lima... that's a thing I'm glad I got to taste before I die.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you want a glance at a given culture or subculture at any moment now or in the past 80 years, turn to their cinema. What's shocking to them? What's their horror like? Their censorship and rating system? What elements do their love stories contain? What do a great portion of their documentaries focus on? Taboos? Norms? the far ends of the scope of what humans are capable of (both beautiful and horrible) can be found in film.
Pictures are worth a thousand words, and moving pictures can show you a whole other world.
