About Me

These days I have work at a university in a medium-sized Midwestern city. This keeps me pretty busy but for evenings and weekends I do what I can to spend some time outdoors, socializing, going to events or concerts, or visiting with my family. I'm friendly and pretty easy to entertain. I believe that the best fun is free. It is a worthwhile exercise to give, forgive, and be thankful.

I'm very active in a women/transgender/gender-fluid bicycle community and participate in community-based actions that protect my community. I also enjoy jumping in a lake, foraging for food, and getting out to the great outdoors!

My partner, Zack, and our dog, Penny, are also wonderful playmates and hosts.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Conversation, eating together, trying new food/drink, checking out something weird that you're really into, hearing your stories - I love it! Guests help me to discover new things; while hosting is a renewed opportunity to show the best side of where I live and re-discover what's wonderful in my life.

Music, Movies, and Books

A favorite book is Blook Meridian. A favorite band is the Pixies. A favorite movie is I Like Killing Flies.

I like any story where the good guys are bad and the bad guys are good. I like noisy music that's a bit angsty, but can't pass up a catchy sweet song either. I listen to a lot of bluegrass and metal.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I biked half way across the U.S. one time! That was pretty fun and I was inspired by hosting so many cross-country cyclists through CS and Warm Showers. I would recommend bike touring to anyone!

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach a little about photos/video/graphics or websites, maybe bikes, cooking, gardening, and plants... If you wanted to learn a little about foraging, fishing, fermentation, or camping in Minnesota, I'd love to teach ya!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A small souvenir. Or a Minnesota beer. I would love to cook with you, adventure with you, hear your stories. I am an easy guest!
