To become who I am

ABOUT ME

I love playing and watching theatre and love dancing! I've been dancing Latin American dances and balroom dances for nine years, but like every kind of dancing for instance African dance and salsa. I'm wild on the dance floor! :P
I love music as well and play the saxophone. Actually I like art in every manner. Then I like pancakes and croissants, duvets, cosiness, liquorice, my bike, Twin Peaks, coffee, red wine, dark ale, jazz, and so on..

I finished something close to high school (it's another system in Denmark) this year and travelled around Sicily for a month with two of my close friends. We attended a 3-weeks theatre course in Palermo, a Commedia dell'Arte and the Grotesque workshop, which was very interesting. I want to be an actrice, yeah!

PHILOSOPHY

I've collected a couple of quotes from different people to sum up my personal philosophy:

"When there's nothing better it's perfect!" - Massimo, an Italian hiker said when he only had noodles and wanted spaghetti.

"It's crazy to be completely normal and it's normal to be completely crazy!" - my father

And the newest one, which my drama teacher's drama teacher had told her and which my drama teacher told me. It was something like this: "If you do shit on stage it has to be greasy shit!"

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate in CS because I think it is a fantastic concept! I really much like that CS is not about money, but hospitality and openmindedness. People open their homes because it is a great opportunity to learn about other cultures and just to meet other people. That's the spirit!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have now couchsurfed three times - all three on Sicily, but in different towns. I really enjoyed every place i went to and was moved about how hospitable and kind everybody was, how much time and energy they all spent on us. I also learned about the big difference between people and how people can be hospitable and openminded in so many ways. CS really gave me something! Especially the want to couchsurf again.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy very much listening to jazz music like Billie Holiday, Stan Getz, Nina Simone, Marlena Shaw, Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk, B. B. King, Dizzy Gillespie, Ella Fitzgerald and so on and electronica like Björk, Bonobo, Caravan Palace, Trentemoeller, Gorillaz. I like Stevie Wonder as well and Angelique Kidjo, Portishead and Kaisers Orchestra. And not to forget I really enjoy jazz and poetry.

I like very much french movies like Amélie, the Delicatesse, Betty Blue, Diva, films by David Lynch...

I like to read as well and enjoy Franz Kafka and the Danish author Peter Seeberg very much.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Femmøller Efterskole (a creative kind of a boarding school) in 06/07 is the best thing I've done ever! Everybody must try such a year!

Another thing: last year I was hiking in the North of Sweeden, Lapland, with one of my friends. I haven't ever experienced a more beautiful landscape. We were 200 km above the Polar Circle and experienced the midnight sun - 24 hours of sunlight! That was so strange! And because of the air pressure snow was lying in spite of a temperature of 20 degrees Celsius. We almost hiked 100 km and we met some nice fellows including the Italian, Massimo, from above.
