hi. my name is daniel. i am often called daniel or calderon. it is rare that i am offended by being called something other than my first name. i am salvadorean by birth and grew up in texas, houston to be exact. i am one who loves having a good laugh and am very passionate about everything i decide to venture in...on a personal level, my approach to happiness includes such pursuits as the cultivation of relationships, reading, making and appreciation of music, gardening, walking, and sharing of good food and fine beverages. i champion the voice of reason and like to learn things by heart...

PHILOSOPHY

"i do not choose to be a common man, it is my right to be uncommon if i can.

i seek opportunity, not security. i do not wish to be a kept citizen, humbled and dulled by having the state look after me. i want to take the calculated risk, to dream and to build, to fail and to succeed.

i refuse to barter incentive for a dole. i prefer the challenges of life to a guaranteed existence, the thrill of fulfillment to the stale calm of utopia. i will not trade freedom for beneficence, nor dignity for a handout.

it is my heritage to think and to act for myself, to enjoy the benefits of my creations, and to face the world boldly and say:
