ABOUT ME

Well where to start....Im 26 and have lived in Auckland, New Zealand most of my life (until recently - ive just moved to Hong Kong).Ok so, about me ....Im pretty much a total goofball and anyone with a sense of humour who can laugh at themselves has a place in my world. I'll try anything once and will eat anything. I seem to get on with all walks of life. In my spare time i love to get out of the city , i especially love getting over to our family beach house (we call them Baches in NZ). Its 30m on a ferry from Auckland city - on a small island called Waiheke. I'll definately take fellow couch surfers over there if they stay with me. I'll then pack the boat with a chilli bin full of cold beer and go out fishing for the day (cant really do these things in Hong kong now though..). My other passion in life is definately music - Aside from playing guitar , a bit of harmonica and a little piano, i try to get to any and every slightly interesting gig possible. Unfortunately HK doesn't seem to get the same calibre of entertainment that other nations do - I desperately want to see radiohead, justice, J5, Daft Punk and too many others. Ive grown up in quite a sporty family and i have always played various sports - My main sports include hockey (field hockey that is...dont laugh..it is a mans sport in NZ!! haha), kickboxing (i do this to counter the feminine comments that i get for playing hockey), cricket and running.I embarked on my first stint of travel about 2 years ago and havent looked back since. I headed to the states and in my 6 months there i visited 24 states and met some crazy people. I loved couch surfing - i had my very best times experiencing american culture through couch surfing. I left the USA in December and headed to Fiji, and then lived in Sydney, Australia for 8 months(funny how you end up where you'd least expect). After this i spent 6 months travelling south america and central america. Now finally im living and working in Hong Kong , and loving it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Im a newby to couch surfing , i have hosted a couple of people before i left for my travels, but am only just starting to understand the magic now. So far my experiences have been fantastic.

Hosted in NZ and couch surfed in the USA - Brilliant . Met some of my best buddies.

I love boating (Go the Americas cup - i plan to get down to Cabo / Mexico during my travels to meet up with friends who take tourists out on the old americas cup yaughts - what a life), fishing, Rock climbing.
I have a fascination for the outdoors and for extreme sports, although havent really had the chance to get involved in them - That will change i tell you!!
I love my guitar and music - Groups that im into include Radiohead, Ryan Adams, The early Killers stuff, Death Cab for Cutie, Cut Copy, Daft Punk , Jurassic 5, London Electricty, Fat Freddys Drop (NZ) , Shapeshifter (NZ), Empire of the Sun, Logistics & High Society, Justice, foo fighters, the arcade fire , interpol, muse, phoenix, the postal service...so much more....and you can count on me to bring some local NZ music along to share with you all.
I'm into sports, have played professional hockey in NZ for most of my life. Love watching sport live.
Other than that im a technology geek and fascinated with mobile advertising & technology which is along the lines of where my work has been taking me.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

To date the most amazing things ive done / seen are:

- Ive stayed with some remote hill tribes in the northern regions of thailand and sung kareoke with a Thai police officer on the chinese new year night whilst drinking home made pomegranate whisky.

- Ive won the pacific cup , an international hockey tournament hosted in Fiji which aims to develop hockey nations around the pacific rim

- Ive home stayed in Japan when i was 14 and got to see mt Aso

- I learnt how to rock climb in two weeks and then decided to climb a 6 pitch (300 ft) cliff in the southern regions of NZ

- I performed in a talent quest semi-naked infront of 4,000 people on a cruise ship touring vanuatu - I played and sang Hey Jude by the beatles on guitar. I won - Yuss.

- I won the city of sails ballroom dance champioship when i was 15 - Haha - I only just remebered that one - Dont judge me, i was young.

- I travelled 24 states in 6 months on my own in the US of A
