ABOUT ME

I grew up in the woods in the Midwest, went to school in the city, and have been running around, both literally and figurateively, for a long time. I've spent a summer working in a national park in Alaska, interned at the White House, lived in Haiti for nine months, and am now working for a consulting company for a while before I go back to school next fall. My passport is almost full, but I'm always looking to explore new places, people, and activities even when I'm not traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books

Haiti gave me a lot of time to read, so I've been reading a ton lately. Right now, I'm in the middle of "Inside National Health Reform", "Spies of the Balkans" and "On Architecture." My CD player has Bizet's Carmen in it, and movies, I just saw Skyfall and enjoyed it. All time? Fifth Business/LotR, My Cousin Vinny, and irish ceili music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I circumnavigated the world and won a grant to study national parks in Peru, Chile, Australia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Tanzania, and South Africa. Slept on a beach in Haiti next to a bonfire. Performed in a professional opera (no singing though!) Saw the sunrise 6 days a week in college and loved it every time.
