ABOUT ME
Love arts & culture, film especially; freedom, and the people who like freedom; I like meeting unusual and daring people -not to daring though, don't get me wrong. I can talk about very serious or very futile things, as you like. I can play the guitar, just for fun, though I have a Charlotte Gainsbourg-like voice, as well as the piano. I'm left-wing and I like hanging out and the so called "alternative" culture.
PHILOSOPHY
Existentialist one might say, I believe in Freedom and giving birth to a project of one's own (from peas growing to the conquest of political power). Like Beauvoir Ethics but I'm not a dogmatic. I want my life to be full of adventures in order to make a movie out of it (kidding here).
Seriously, I consider true friends and trustworthy people one of the most important things for my personal balance.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
When living in Toronto, me & my roomate [Laura Dabudyk, a fellow CouchSurfer] hosted a bunch of very friendly people. We also did CS in Ottawa and Vancouver. Then I surfed quite a lot in Chicago. Unfortunately my place in Paris is too small to host, but I'd be happy to meet up if you happen to come by Paris.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
As I was saying me & my roommate did CS when we were in Canada, we were hosted by a very skilled couchsurfer in Ottawa, who took us to his friend's roof to see the fireworks for Canada Day. We went to Vancouver and were hosted by a very nice guy, along with dozens of other couchsurfers. The whole thing was close to a hippie/community unforgettable experience. We then moved to a condo at a professional poker player's place, right downtown. Our fellow New Zealander couchsurfer appeared to be an excellent buddy for our bar jumping in the Vancouver gay area. Also unforgettable.
And the Chicago Xperience was just too good to be true. Hosts & ppl were so welcoming and fun that it felt like being in a movie.
Interests
Film (indie movies, Antonioni, Fassbinder, LYNCH,and so much more), theatre, literature (Virginia Woolf fan, enjoyed Margaret Atwood, but also very fond of French "nouveau roman" and 19th Century novels), music (PJ Harvey, Cat Power, the so called glam rock, jazz live, Portishead, Janis J and the like), drawing...

Music, Movies, and Books
Wow, seems like I already answered to that one...once again, quickly :
-films: Mulholland Drive, Annie Hall, Petra von Kant, the Eclipse, l'Avventura, la Notte, musicals, films by Bunuel, and even, sometimes, stupid Hollywood comedies.
-music: PJ Harvey, David Bowie, Portishead, Charlotte Gainsbourg, BOB DYLAN (I know it's cliché but I find 'Blood on the tracks' songs very moving).
-books: Virginia Woolf, Nathalie Sarraute, Margaret Atwood, Thomas Mann, Toni Morrison (read one, but very much enjoyed it: 'Beloved'), the French classics: Zola, Stendhal, Flaubert and so on and so forth.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I will tell you if we get to know each other a bit better.
Spoke to Catherine Deneuve not so long ago, I'm usually not impressed by personalities, but as a "Les demoiselles de Rochefort" and a Bunuel fan, I was happy. Now I'm looking forward to meeting with Angelina Jolie, to check ouf if she's really got that mouth.
Teach, Learn, Share
Can teach: basic guitar, the piano, French, my personal philosophy, film analysis.
Wanna learn: improve my English & German, start Spanish maybe, improve guitar playing, discover new films, how to cook very good deserts, how to use Photoshop, more about Philosophy, read your favorite book, listen to your favorite band, meet new people.
Share: anything we'd have/or not in common!
