About Me
I am an Australian, my parents are from Argentina and my mothers parents are Italian and Spanish. I'm a global kid by default and genetics-a sort of cultural mash up. I think that this has shaped my attitudes and curiosity of new people, sites and cultures.
I’m currently spending 5 months (May to October) getting lost in India soaking up as much of the culture as I can, wanting to meet new people along the way and learn as much as I can.
I’m a bit of a cliché I have to admit. I was a management consultant for 4 years working for a boutique firm started up by an ex-McKinsey consultant. I got pretty burnt out working 60 - 70 hours a week every week and decided to quit my job and reassess my life a little. That was last December. Sometimes when you make room in your life good things come along. Just before I left for this trip I got my dream job working at a start up incubator that supports female entrepreneurs start their own businesses. I support women who struggle to find jobs due to certain hardships they have faced in their lives.
When I’m not working you can finding me dancing out in the bush at a festival or in a club. I love electronic music, particularly techno and house, and dancing the night away. My days in Melbourne are spent seeing friends, eating at the amazing restaurants Melbourne has and attending one of the million cultural festivals we have on. It’s a pretty amazing city to call home. And like most aussies I love hanging at the beach and going bush walking. There’s so much of Australia I still haven’t seen!
When I was a student I travelled as much and as often as I could. I’ve been to South America, Africa, lived in Europe, parts of south east Asia and most recently Cuba and Mexico. It feels good to be backpacking and on the road for a long period of time. It’s been a while since I’ve done this kind of travel!
Couchsurfing is responsible for connecting me to the most amazing friends, housemates, communities and places. I’ve introduced people to each other 10 years ago who are still dating today because of couchsurfing! I’m an incredibly social person and love that couchsurfing helps me connect to new and interesting people from all kinds of cultures. I’d love to share stories and a meal with you.
