About Me

CURRENT MISSION

bridging the gap...

ABOUT ME

I have just finished university (taking English and American Literatures), I'm taking a year out to decide what I want to do with my life.

I hope to take in as much of South America, Australia and Asia as I can on my travels!

In South America I'm headed for Brazil, Venezuela, Columbia Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile and Argentina.

PHILOSOPHY

Trying not to think about tomorrow, experience and travel as much as possible!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Someone told me about Couch Surfing in a pub once. I've told quite a few people about the project.

When I actually have a house / room to my name I'll offer it here. (I promise!)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to the program, although I have travelled a fair amount (mostly in Europe, and mostly in hostels).

Interests

reading, travelling, sleeping, thinking, talking, eating, listening, walking, swimming, getting lost... and, of course, partying.

Music, Movies, and Books

Reading: Anything I can get my hands on, but in particular Philip K Dick, Leo Tolstoy, Robert Heinlein, Richard Ford and (at the moment) Paul Theroux.

Music: Bob Dylan, Ali Farke Toure, Nick Cave, Silver Jews, Pavement, REM, Mountain Goats, Radiohead (now I'm just reading off random artists from my CD collection!)

Basically, I'm completely open minded about any music. Music that's good.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taking a dog sledge across the Icelandic glacier, almost dying up a mountain (or large hill, depending who you ask). Meeting some ring-tailed lemurs.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can cook!

I can play a bit of guitar, happy to teach.

I'm computer literate: I can build websites, fix computers etc.

I probably know a little bit too much about 90s indie music.

and.... I can read maps! --> not to be underestimated ;)

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Monaco, Netherlands, Peru, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Uruguay, Venezuela

Countries I’ve Lived In

United Kingdom, United States
