ABOUT ME

In Barcelona from Jan 2011 for a TEFL course and beyond....
Love new experiences and forcing myself to go outside my confort zone. Very suggestible! Want to meet new people that make me think in a different way. Having said all this I enjoy quiet reflection and relaxing too!

In 2009 I embarked upon a magical tour of discovery in North America where I first encountered couch surfing.

Now in Barcelona as of January 2011! Doing a tefl course for the next month or so. I have accommodation but still looking to meet with couchsurfers in this great city. Planning to travel more around Europe once my course has finished.

PHILOSOPHY

You've got to find your own path and experience things for yourself to really learn them. Be impulsive and creative.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

How I participate is thusly. So far I have met people whilst tarvelling the US and Canada, staying on couches and having coffee. Upon returning to England found my house mates were resistant to hosting. Now travelling again and looking to meet more people. Would love to host in future once I am settled somewhere interesting. Also for Karma and all that. Good to give something back from something that has given me so much.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Slept on lots of couches in various different positions. Can definitely hang ten whilst surfing all manner of furniture.
Enjoy most if someone shows me around a place they genuinely love.

Hate this cultural pigeonholing but I guess its neccessary as I always browse other peoples lists! Like so much so here's some examples of what I've been into recently:
Books- Down and out in Paris and London, Motorcycle Diaries, Slaughterhouse Five, Confucius
Music - Beach House, Sleigh bells, Toro y moi, los campesinos, buena vista social club, how to dress well, big daddy kane, the kinks
Movies - Inception, Eagle vs Shark, Harry Brown, A Serious Man
TV - Curb, 30 rock, FOTC, Peep Show (only watch tv online/dvd now. I've quit regular tv - I cant handle it anymore!)

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Jumped off a bridge into the fast flowing river below in the Swiss town of Thun on Swiss national day. All the locals were doing it so me and my friend stripped off and jumped in too.

I play some guitar, expert on English football, full of useless knowledge and anecdotes about odd experiences, observant of surroundings, teach/taught English conversation and writing classes to ESL students
