About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I'm in love with EUROPE and its people and as long I'm in FRANCE I'd like to go to as many places as possible
ABOUT ME
I am a fun loving person and love to try out totally different things. My current desire is to soak in as much of the EUROPEAN culture as possible.Looking forward to see awesome places and interact with people who dwell this beautiful continent.
PHILOSOPHY
I love to join people around me,in whatever activity they are involved in.I prefer doing things in a group rather than doing them alone.(My father has always tried to force me into being independent ,but somehow I still miss something if I'm away from the love of my parents or the companionship of my friends)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
The sole purpose of this site is to bring together people belonging to totally different culture and sharing their experiences ,their beleifs and their life-styles.Going to a new place and having no guidance at all, creates a lot of trouble for the visitor. If he finds a local at that place and spends time with him,the entire experience changes and makes the trip ,an unforgettable one.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I belong to INDIA,the land of the TAJ MAHAL.No wonder,we have plenty of tourists back home.I was staying in my small apartment in kolkata when I met a lady named MAGALI.She was a tourist from Bodeaux,France.(what a coincidence,I'm in France now ,myself).I met her on the metro station Rabindra Sarovar. She seemed to be pretty amiable and jovial. We talked for our 30 min journey together and in the end I gave her my phone number(so that she could call me for directions ,if she needed some).Surprisingly,my phone rang at around 12 midnight and it was Magali. She was somewhere in the middle of the city, totally lost ,with no clue where to go,after she had missed her train and desperately gave up the futile search for any accommodation.I somehow recognised the place she described she was at,and then guided her to my apartment. The lady had nowhere to go in the middle of the night,so even though my apartment was a small one,I made up some space for her to stretch and spend the night.A pretty poor accommodation for a foreigner like her,but that was all I could offer.Although ,she seemed to be satisfied,I knew she had a back-ache in the morning.Felt sorry for her. :( In the morning we had some IDLIs for breakfast and went to the station. Her next train left in the evening, and it was a SUNDAY.I was free and we went to see the city.I showed her the Victoria Memorial and the Science City.It was wonderful, spending the day with a woman belonging to a totally different culture who had 1000s of stories to narrate .I wasn't bored for even a minute in her presence. Her captivating narration and cheerful attitude always kept me occupied. The only misfortune I had was that I didn't ask for her E-mail address or her phone number. So I got totally detached from her, when she left. How could I have been so absent minded and made such a mistake!!!!! Anyways during my stay in France,I'll go to Bordeaux and see if luck has anything in store for me and if I can meet her again.
Not every great story has a happy ending after all......

Music, Movies, and Books
I can't see any movie alone.I love to got to the theatre with my friends and enjoy any movie, the group wants to see.
Music, well I love Indian music and some hollywood themes and well, anything else I can swing to.... :)
I never went out of my textbooks. The few novels I read in my highschool were because my teacher had forced me to read them.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I can't pick out any particular instance as such.
Last time ,when I was in Barcelona ,I didn't sleep a day and a half and went walking around the city. So,I covered almost all important places to be seen in 1.5 days.(thanks to the local people.....if it was not for them,I could have ended up going round and round a circle in the city)
Well academically... :( I qualified through one of the toughest exams in the world....JEE ,for the entrance to the chain of IIT sin INDIA....only 4000,out of the 350000 people appearing are selected,so I was one of the lucky ones.
There were plenty of small splendid instances when I was in Paris. When I asked anyone for directions ,he would accompany me for around half of the distance.....
There are 100s of such experiences,I just can't put them all here....
