At the moment I'm currently looking for places to stay on the summer excursion but next year when I have more space I'll be looking into hosting people as well. At the moment I'm also quite content to, when available, show people around Edinburgh if they would like to see it.

....and playing music, finding decent nights out (I've done so in Edinburgh so I'm confident I can in most places) talking to people and generally experience as much 'difference' as possible.

Music, Movies, and Books

(Movies)

Decent/The potentiality of storming heaven, mike leigh features, nuri bilge ceylan, scorsese (although if there was a version without the mysogyny i'd doubtless like that more) werner herzog and the Coen Brothers.

Crappy/generally, trashy action stuff like terminator, british hammer horror, and trashy but fun films like human traffic.

(Music) Decent/ Bob Dylan, Russian and German Classical, Shellac, Velvet Underground, Fugazi, Led Zeppelin, Pearl Jam and a litany of respectable stuff.

More Decadent/Then there are the screeds of heavy metal from the British New Wave in the late 70s, 80s and early 90s trash, punk from the 80s, Nile, Darkthrone, Mastodon, Lamb of God, and stoner stuff like Sleep and Om.

(Books) Deleuze and Guittari, Deleuze (solo), Zizek, Mike Davis, Rilke, Dostoyevsky, Foucault, Political theory and philosophy, and a screed of left wing stuff.

I also like comic books a lot and am particularly obsessive about my Grant Morrison, Alan Moore and Garth Ennis and have a grudging like of Mark Millar and Brian Michael Bendis.
