About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Thinking and writing (poetry, memory, place, connection, intimacy), and teaching people/challenging people to do the same. Cooking, intermittently.

ABOUT ME

Graduate student in poetry, writing teacher. I did a lot of roaming and exploring in my early 20s -- living and teaching in Thailand and traveling in Southeast Asia, living in New York working a variety of jobs, traveling throughout the northeast, figuring some things out about being an ethical human, thinker, and artist, learning how big the world was. Spending my late 20s more focused on my work as a poet, thinker, and teacher, trying to take that seriously and produce good work, while trying to figure out how to stay excited and engaged in a smaller town. I don't get outside as much as I should, but am looking for excuses to do so and spend some more time in these Colorado mountains. Looking for ways to be more engaged with the world of action, in conjunction with the world of thought.

PHILOSOPHY

Listen, ask questions, take the time to think, give yourself permission to be silent and still, move yourself toward action, be aware of what is around you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Mostly through surfing because I often live with roommates who aren't up for hosting. I hope to be able to host later this year once our new adopted dog is a little more settled in the house.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I took a trip out west with a friend of mine during a strange transition point in my life. We couched surfed. It sounds a little silly, but the people I met changed my life, gave me so many ideas about how it was possible to live, the places it was possible to go.

Interests

Getting lost, going to new places, poetry, art, dancing, yoga (though I haven't been doing that much of it recently), cooking, forests, bodies of water.
