CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to travel in Asia and to experiance and learn as much as i can about life in this part of the world.

ABOUT ME

OK so a synopsis of my life so far !
I am originally from Clones, Co Monaghan, Ireland. I spent the first 18 years of my life there. Clones is a small border town in the northern province of Ireland. Its very green and hilly (as you would expect in Ireland). I spent most of my childhood playing in the fields building huts and camping ect so i guess you could say I'm a country boy at heart.
My family moved to the the midlands in 98 to a town called Birr where i finished school. After i went to Dublin to study Architecture. Its a five year course but most people take a year out to travel.Myself and some friends went to San Francisco and i worked as a painter, great job and great city. Myself and a friend (Tom) travelled through Central America for a couple of months on the way home, this is where i got my first real taste for travelling. Awesome first trip.
Back to Dublin to finish my studies for 2 years after which i worked as a graduate Architect for another 2 years in Dublin. I enjoyed the work and the chance to save up to go travelling again. Tom and i Planned to return to America once we saved enough. In June 2006 we set of for a 9 month trip through Central and South America finishing in Brazil for Carnival, enough said!
Moved to Sydney to work again as an graduate Architect, missed working after 9 months on the road ! Had a great working and living experience for almost a year an half, another great city.
I left Sydney in June to embark on my second big trip, this time Asia and this time Solo. So far i have visited Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Now I'm planning to head to China.
My main mission in travelling is to experience how the rest of the world works and to share these experiences with others. This i firmly believe is an essential part of education.
I'm new to couch surfing but the more i travel the more it seems to make sense to experience travelling this way. I'm looking forward to it
So i hope to share some great experiences and adventures with whoever i stay with in the future :)

PHILOSOPHY

This is a deep one :). I suppose my personal philosophy is to live a full and dynamic life, to learn from our past and to try if possible to contribute in some positive way to the evolution of life.
I would be glad to discuss my thoughts on life etc further in person :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to participate in the CS project by meeting people in their own environments and seeing how it really is to live there and to share my own experience of people and places. This I think can be a really beneficial mutual experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As of yet i have no personal C.S. experience, only what i have heard from my friends who have participated. This i hope to remedy shortly :)

Well first and foremost it has to be my Family- Friends. Then Travelling and Architecture
I really enjoy going to new places, learning about the history, religion, politics and getting a glimpse of how the people live there.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

It really difficult to commit to writing one thing because their has been so many amazing things in America and S.E. Asia
A couple of the highlights for me have been :)
The San Blas Islands, Panama. Spending days going Island hopping, fishing and meeting the interesting Kuna People
Climbing Huayna Potasi 6100m. watching the sun come up over the Cordillera Real
Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia. Watching sun set and sun rise over the Salt flats
Ciudad Perdida, Colombia. A Week long trek through the jungle to the "lost City"
Parque Tyrona Colombia, One of the most beautiful beaches i have been too.
Krabi province, Thailand. spending days climbing and kayaking and the evenings relaxing in the dramatic surroundings.
Ankor Wat, Cambodia. Exploring the magnificent ancient ruins and observing nature at work.
Ho chi Minn, Hanoi, Vietnam. Simply walking the streets and experience the energy of an S.E. Asia City.
