About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"...make the most of every opportunity"

ABOUT ME

I love people, long, deep conversations, music of many genres, creative people, and anything active. My best friends would say I'm bubbly, full of energy, a close talker and one who thrives on deep conversations. This life is fleeting--I don't want to waste one second of it...sleeping shouldn't be necessary...

(though I am training for marathons, so I have to sleep, and run, and work...but besides that I thrive when experiencing new people and experiences. What can you teach me? What can I teach you?

PHILOSOPHY

"Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I first experienced couchsurfing about a decade ago in Europe (ahh...so long ago!). I moved to New York City 6 years ago, and recently relocated to Miami. Happy to share life with great people!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been the surfer & host now, and love both sides of the experience--meeting interesting people is always a positive experience in my book!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: my taste ranges from Debussy and Mozart to Hillsong, Elliott Smith, Coldplay, Head and the Heart, Meghan Trainor, the 1975, Lumineers, Haim....the list goes on... (most of those are oldies but goodies in my book)
Movies: too many...Gone with the Wind, Just Friends, When Harry Met Sally, Legends of the Fall, The Sound of Music all are classics to me...but I also watch a lot of doumentaries on food/healthy living/Ted talks and lots of indie films

Books: Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Jane Eyre, Gone with the Wind, A Tale of Two Cities and lots of christian literature.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bungee jumping in Whistler, BC---absolutely stunning scenery and a thrilling experience.

Seeing the Indian Ocean for the first time, at sunset in Mozambique. Sunsets are my favorite, and it was just one of those awe inspiring moments where I saw the vastness of God's creation, and I remember thinking "Am I really here?".

I felt a similar experience when I was in Salzburg, Austria, overlooking the city from the Fortress, and seeing the beauty of the mountains that looked like they were within arms reach. I remember those moments as if they were out of a romance novel.

Teach, Learn, Share

Try to get as much sleep as possible when traveling, otherwise you'll grow weary when you least expect it (like what happened to me, on my one night in Munich) so plan your trip accordingly. So forgive yourself when you forget to factor in jet leg and exhaustion. But only sleep enough to survive-you're traveling! Live life to the fullest and enjoy every moment!
