ABOUT ME

Hi! I am living and working in Berlin, besides I love to travel.

My interests lie between music, concerts, partys, media, politics, food, meeting friends, exploring our globe... so much to do - so less time!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While travelling in Germany and Europe in July 2009,
I once stayed in Munich at Fabian's flatshare and it
was the perfect start for my couchsurfing experiences!
Even the first time showed me that the idea of CouchSurfing definitely works! I got to know several extremely friendly people - had local contact to get to know the places better and could sleep in a warm bed. Wonderful!

The same thing happened in Stuttgart! Everardo and his flat-mate were so friendly and did everything to help me and provide a good time. Arriving as a stranger, being welcomed so warmly and spending much time sitting together in the evening in the kitchen talking about every imaginable kind of stuff while having a beer - what else can you ask for??

Lara hosted me and a friend in Vienna, she was such a great host and spent much time with us giving us a special view on Vienna. Thanks again so much for that!

Then, we visited Lili in Budapest! I even came back one year later and through CouchSurfing we build up a very special relationship. Wonderful!

Interests

I spent most of the time of the ages from 11 to 15 on my skateboard. I really like the skateboarding culture, but since I broke my arm while dropping, the enthusiasm sadly vanished more and more..
But every now and then, I grab my board and start ripping the streets again, cause once infected the spirit of skateboaring will never let you go!

Then there`s music, either functional for dancing or just to relax. 2006, I got into djing, which is a wonderful thing to do.

I like to spend time with family and friends, especially family celebrations, exploring the nightlife, partys and to be active.

Another thing, I really like is cooking and eating!
Good, natural food, a well done preperation and a cold beer - a perfect evening for me!

AND - saved for the end and why I ended up here - I LIKE TRAVELLING!
Various vacations and exchanges showed me quite nice parts of the world.
I love exploring new views, cultures and people!
Getting together with people and strangers and trying to communicate either in languages I learned or by hand and foot is one of the best things life and our world have to offer!

By travelling and looking beyond the own horizon, life becomes such a wide, boundless and diverse thing. Sounds philosophical, right? Never mind, i'm also up to talking nonsense ;-)

Music, Movies, and Books

I like intelligent and well-done or artistic films, more with reference to reality than science-fiction or mainstream-happy-family blockbuster.

For example I liked "L.A. Crash", "Enter The Void", "Rules Of Attraction", "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", "Koyanisqatsi", "American Beauty", "Spun", "Pulp Fiction", "23 - Nichts ist so wie es scheint", "Kids", "Shawshank Redemption", "Training Day", "Trainspotting", "City of God", "Léon", "Forrest Gump", "Big Lebowski", "Spoon", "Requiem for A Dream", "Brazil", "Import Export", good ol mafia flicks like "GoodFellas" or "Once Upon A Time in America" and way more to list...

I'm a very slow reader, what I sometimes really regret, that's why I didn't read that much in life yet.
Some of those books I read and liked: "Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde, "Papillon" by Henri Charriere, "Mr. Ibrahim And The Flowers Of The Koran" by Eric Emmanuel Schmidt, "The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald...

Music is very important to me, because in my mind, music aswell gives you an impression of how much our world has to offer. Maybe that's why there's a huge range of music I am listening to.

It starts with old jazz music from the 1920s (best played from vinyl!!), via rock, soul (Phillysound!!) of the '60s up to reverberant 80s pop.
Then, I like that old school hiphop stuff.
"A Tribe called Quest", "EPMD" to "N.W.A.", "Gangstarr", "Absolute Beginner" - i love it!

While partying - nothing's better than house, techno and minimal. Throw some fine electronical tunes and my leg won't keep calm!

Then, there's my special relationship to Drum'n'Bass!
Deep down, my musical heart beats with 170 beats per minute! I fell in love with Liquid Funk and there aren't much better things than a good DnB-Party!

Last but not least, I like Indie and Alternative(difficult to term right),aswell as some rock-, punk-, ska- and reggaebands.

So, you see, my taste of music varies a lot and maybe this gave a small view.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

An amazing thing I've done or seen in my life? I think there are plenty of amazing things you do or see.
For example, once, on the isle of Creta, I saw something I´ve never seen before or again.
There was a "wall of rain" for about 3 minutes. On the one side, there was rain all over and on the other side everything was dry, so you could jump from dry to wet, just like a shower.

What I also found amazing were trips "on the top". Once, me and a friend climbed up a very old, cobwebby tower and ended up with a complete view of our city.
Or on top of the mountains sitting on my snowboard with the skyline of white-covered peaks coming out of a carpet of clouds. Both amazing.
Or reaching the top of the mountains we climbed in France and looking over the wide green valleys. Aswell as sitting at a beach at Texel and spectating the stars.
I think I like the beauty of dimensions.

Amazing things I did?
In Sweden, nearly every day, I got up a bit earlier to swim to the other side of the lake. This took about an hour and was cold as hell. But it gave me a special feeling to swim alone in this deep and silent lake with the deepest woods surrounding the shore.

Teach, Learn, Share

Phew, what is there to offer?
I can teach you some skateboard tricks or how to ride a snowboard , show you how to mix some vinyl or give useful tips about first aid I learned for my civilian service. We could also talk about my studies of communication science or sociology ;-)

Or maybe you just want to cook a nice meal with me?
