About Me
CURRENT MISSION
When my husband passed away in 2014, I lost my heart and therefore my home because home truly is where the heart is. My mission now is to find out who I am without him.
ABOUT ME
Born and raised in Ontario. Other than moving from Southern Ontario to Northern Ontario, I've never lived anyplace else. Now I'm in the process of moving back to Southern Ontario.
PHILOSOPHY
It's not what you have, it's who you are with, that's important. Home really IS where the heart is.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I originally joined CS to be able to help our WWOOF and HelpX volunteers find places to stay while they travel around Canada. I am able to give them references and let them know about all the great people out there willing to help them as well.
2014
I used CS when my son and I travelled to Newfoundland.
November 2017
I'm in a period of transition and not able to accept surfers right now. I will be moving back to Southern Ontario within the next several months, to be closer to my kids and family. Perhaps once I know where I'll be and what my situation is, I will once again be hosting. OR I just might be doing more travelling and surfing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I've ever seen, of course was the birth of my 2 children.
The next most amazing thing was Telegraph Creek on the Stikine River in B.C., Canada. Looking over the edge literally took my breath away.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have taught MS programs workshops at Northern College in Timmins, ON.
The first thing I tell students is "F1" and the help files of any program are your best friends.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Whether your "couch" is literally a couch or a blow-up mattress on the floor or a cozy double bed, it doesn't matter to a true Couch Surfer, as long as they know what to expect ahead of time. If you present yourself and your home honestly in your profile, you should never have a complaint from anyone surfing your "couch".
Sometime (hopefully most times) a surfer will offer to do some bit of work in exchange for their free night's stay - take the offer, even if it's just to set the table or help with the clearing off of the table or helping with the dishes. If they offer to bring something for dinner (e.g. pizza or a 6 pack of beer or bottle of wine) - let them.
