About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel and meet other people, to become a better person, to help others, to learn about anything that others are willing to teach me (and vice versa), to enjoy and make the most out of the life that I've been given.

ABOUT ME

I can get along with almost anyone. I like human interaction and adventures. I also love to learn and explore.

PHILOSOPHY

The solution to every problem in the world would be that everyone believes everything is a gift. Anything more than that is a perversion of the truth. I have spent much time in my short life thinking about very complicated questions of philosophy, meaning, purpose, goals, etc. and I believe the answer to everything is truly simple--everything is a gift and should be cherished as such. Really, why do people feel things need to always become more complicated? It does not breed happiness. Nobody is more important than any other person, and those who wonder astray and commit atrocities are not alone in the blame. All humans are kin to one another, and all share in the blame. Evil breeds evil, and we're all caught in the same grievous loop since the first sin of man. When one stumbles he does so because those that walked the path before didn't remove the stone that caused him to stumble. Also, when he stumbles, he becomes the best example and the most qualified guide to lead others safely through the treacherous path. I have heard the saying, "if you haven't found something worth dieing for, then you're not fit to live" used many times as a call to war and violence. However, i believe the truth of the matter is that there are many things worth dieing for, but nothing is worth killing for. In every situation, suffering is always better than causing other to suffer. The only "justice" that humans should concern themselves with is forgiveness. No sin is so bad that it cannot be forgiven. Live simply, love fiercely, appreciate every gift in life, offer forgiveness always, believe every man is equally important and refuse to commit violence.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I can, I offer up my couch to visitors passing through, and was an active couch surfer in China.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It has been great so far! I have met many fun and interesting people.

Interests

rock/mountain climbing, hiking, snowboarding, almost anything outdoors and/or involving nature, traveling (I love the feeling of being in a new environment), learning languages (Chinese is my first goal), learning about cultures, history, archaeology, food/cooking (when I have the time), good discussions, getting to know people, friendship. The list could go on and on. I'm the type of person that can be genuinely interested in just about anything someone wants to show/tell me.

Music, Movies, and Books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My house was shot up by a crazed drug addict neighbor when I was a kid (bullets do, in fact, fly through walls. It's not like the movies!). Thankfully, my family moved away soon after. On a rock climbing trip, someone fell into a 70 foot crevasse and broke nearly every bone in his body and had to be lifted out with a helicopter.
