About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Dance like no one's watching, sing like no one's listening, give without expectation of return, love and be loved.
ABOUT ME
I try to think about the big picture. I am honest and look for the humour in many things. I am open minded and can explore the concept and beliefs others. I enjoy the new-ness of arriving in cities or countries I've not visited before and drink in the sights and sounds. I am both a spectator and a player. Life is too short. I like to try things at least once. I enjoy spending enough time in a country to learn the culture rather than being an outsider looking in.
PHILOSOPHY
One life. Live like it's heaven on earth, Dance like no one's watching, Sing like no one's listening, Love like I've never been hurt. Mark Twain
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I had started to host surfers who travel through China. Now that I'm travelling I hope to meet many more interesting people.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted couchsurfers in China and enjoyed having the western influence from time to time with my guests.
Interests
Long hikes or treks. I like reading as a relaxer. I spend time on the computer surfing the travels sites and blogs for new ideas. I love creating new art. At the moment I'm into papier mache'. Teaching the kids at summer camp too. Writing blogs, photography. Setting myself challenges and following them through.

Music, Movies, and Books
Love the Harry Potters, I'm a Star Trek fan from way back, mystery books. Personal stories too. Various music styles but the 70's music sure can get me singing and dancing. The Color Purple is a fave. I'm slowly reading Sophie's World, by Jostein Gaardner. Travel books (but now internet is far easier to find inspiration)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Had the courage to let go of all my possessions and embark on a journey of world discovery. (doesn't that sound corny?
Seeing the childrens' happy faces in my first class back after Summer holidays. What a heartwarming pleasure.
There are many amazing wonders in the world but more recently would be witnessing baby turtles hatch and scamper down the beach to the ocean. Or watching a volcano erupting regularly from the luxury of a sun deck 2kms away with a cold beer in hand. (Costa Rica - Sept 08). Trekked to Everest Base Camp May 1999 2 years after bone marrow transplant.
